My Dad, Brother and I went on our annual Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness trip last week. It ruled as always. We went further west than we have in the past. It was more desolete than over in the eastern Boundary Waters. We didn't see any people for the first 3+ days.
We saw awesome animals like:
Moose

Deer

Bald Eagles
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1037.jpg)
Chipmunks
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1209.jpg)
Also...Loons, Ruffed Grouse, Yellow-Bellied Flickers, Beavers, Otters, Pine Martins, among lots of other wildlife.
We ate and drank dudely stuff....like any good dudes should:
Ribeyes on the first night

Ribeyes done
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1031.jpg)
A pound of bacon one morning
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1127.jpg)
Black as shit coffee from the french press (which was a lifesaver on 40 degree mornings)
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1129.jpg)
Walleye and Perch that we had just caught. Fucking delicious
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1161.jpg)
Fish frying up
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1170.jpg)
We even bite the bullet and lugged a six pack with us (which wasn't much, but tasted awesome when all you have to drink is lake water) The extra weight in our food pack from the beer was well worth it.

We caught fish:

We sat around under a tarp for the good majority of a day as it rained non-stop
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1047.jpg)
But we also said fuck it, put on our rain gear and fished from shore
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1057.jpg)
A few times, the bugs got really fucking unbearable, but you get used to it
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1074.jpg)
They decided to leave me on stranded on shore and went off to go look for another campsite
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1088.jpg)
So I got bored and took a few photos of myself
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1094.jpg)
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1154.jpg)
I took this picture of myself (before taking a shit in the latrene at one of the campsites) by setting the self-timer on my camera a setting it in a tree.

Some of the portages going from lake to lake really sucked
![Image](http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n8/nmeurer80/IMG_1183.jpg)
Especially when lugging around all this heavy shit on your back

The scenery was as good as it gets:
Devil's Cascade

River rapids
