I am heartbroken. I know I'm not the only vegan on this board who enjoyed Taco John's. No longer will word-of-mouth permission from other vegans be good enough for me.

Hahah, sucky. Dudes if you were vegan why still eat fast food? That shit sucks anyway. I know at times it can be an only option but there is plenty of other, better vegan stuff anyway.

How is it that you thought anything at Taco Johns was vegan? Even a dumb blood mouth fucker like me ain't that fuckin' dumb.

This is a recent change, or so I've gathered from the internet.
Crispy taco is still vegan.

the bean burrito without cheese was vegan before it seems they recently got new tortillas that now include whey.

no deep fried food is vegan unless the dude running the fryer has a deep personal cause to actully seperate the fried meat (like crispy chicken) from an appitizer. but usually the resturant doesnt have the facilities or the comunication to keep meat cooking oil from non meat cooking oil.

I sort of overlooked this. Good to know that there's still something vegan there. But the crispy taco deters me from wanting to eat there--there not as good as burritos.

That's how I justify it, at least.

dear vegans,

i just had some taco johns. i squeeze a bit of my burrito on the curb for you and your recent loss. but then i realized there was cheese in it and i was probably just salting an open wound, much like the delightful salting and seasoning process that each individual ole goes through. anyways my thoughts are with you in your most burrito-less hours.

I ate B-Bops last night. Shit was fucking awesome. My hands were so greasy after eating that burger that I just stared at them and laughed for like 20 seconds.

Taco John's sucks, yo! Only thing decent is Mexi Rolls and the occasional cup of Oles.

Wrong. Crispy taco: RULES. Crunchy Chicken & Potato Burrito: RULES. Potato Olés: BEST SIDE EVER. Taco Burger: WORTHWHILE CURIOSITY.

Taco John's cheat code: ask to have them sprinkle Olé seasoning on your tacos. Tastes better with a bean & cheese taco but still works on regular Crispy Tacos.

I am dumbfounded.
Not by how dumb that "joke" (I guess) was, but by the process that goes through your head that allows you to claim yourself to be "a vegetarian" and to somehow justify it all.
Cheese has rennet in it. Rennet is an enzyme used to coagulate milk and is obtained by slaughtering a calf, cutting open the stomache and harvesting the enzyme.

Just order a burger from mcdonalds and get it over with.

enzyme =/= meat

not all vegetarians are in it for the sake of saving animals' lives. seems simple enough.

Rob wins this thread. Potato Oles and ranch dressing owns.

I always wondered who orders the taco burger. I've only seen that done once or twice.

I used to get the taco burger back when I used to skip school and go to the one across the street in the 70's. Back then all the Taco John's were just little tin shacks with an ordering area about the size of Big Tomato's.

Then I discovered the Taco Bravo and I never ordered another taco burger.

I am bummed about this.

While I am tempted to call out some serious animal cruelty fence walking, I was informed last night that millions of beetles have died for my record collection.
