I might be down for this. I'm really good at having fun while not winning.

robdigi wrote:I'm guessing Varg's argument is that everyone pays income tax (even though cyclists don't have jobs or whatever) and that money goes to both the state and to the federal gov't which then doles some fraction of that money out to the states and some fraction of that is allocated to roads.

In that scenario it's stretching it to say that cyclists are "paying taxes for roads" in a meaningful sense compared to drivers.

lol at everyone "facepalming" and not countering my argument. Does that have something to do with others agreeing with me and robdigi saying I was right about taxes? Wow nick, you must feel like a fucking retard.

Here's one relating to this (100% serious, not trolling).

The license fees I pay every year for hunting and fishing (about $400 a year total) pay for the upkeep and new construction of state and county parks. On top of that, now you're required to pay a fee to use the boat ramp at certain lakes.

If you ride a bicycle on the trails through the above mentioned areas, you need to be required to buy a stamp for the season or pay some sort of a toll.

I do my part, now do yours, free loaders.

A good example of this is the new trail from the Runnels area all the way to the south end of the Lake Red Rock area. It might not seem like it, but that trail cost a couple of million dollars, most of which was paid for with the hunting, fishing and habitat stamp revenue (purchased with your hunting license).

Bullshit.

Not only is it illegal, I think it's impossible.

Get a job, get a car, stop fucking up the roads, stop being a detriment to society.
Please tell me when a bicycle has EVER fucked up a road. You're the one polluting the world with your vehicle not me, so who is really the detriment to society? The main reason I ride my bike is I enjoy the health benefits and it's fun as fuck. Sorry man, come scream some shit at me out your window though!

For you:
I cut off my catalytic converter 2 years ago and only use leaded gas (you can get it at Apex oil on SE 30th) + i refuse to fix my oil leak that leaks pretty heavy upon the roads. I also try to "skim" bicyclists with my side mirrors whenever possible.
Fuck the earth.

I'm not sure how this is any different than any other time I'm around you.

Also: Our band just broke up, publicly, because you are edge, and I am not. I just don't feel like I can be friends with you because my parents found my bong, and you don't smoke weed.

So surely somebody can answer me why Ames has bike paths when none of the bicyclists use them.
I swear to God, I see this all spring and all summer: Two bicyclists on the road, blocking traffic...with a bike path not 5 feet to their right.

Someone explain it to me. This is what I've theorized so far:

newly warm weather x (bicycles + dipshits) - (bike paths/tax $) = fucked up traffic.

You bitch and bitch and bitch about bike paths and trails and then never use them...and who do you think pays for those?? Just like joeychaos said...

90% of the people who ride bikes in Ames are students. Students ride bikes to class. The bike paths don't lead to campus. I have ridden the bike paths in Ames and bicyclists DO ride on them. Most of the students here don't have cars here so they ride their bikes.
