What's it like booking shows at their progressive? How much of the door does the place take?

I highly suggest booking there on the basis that the venue is a really cool place and the owner, Nate, is an awesome guy. There's no percentage taken out of the door money, but they usually try to get the Progressive as much as possible since it's run on strictly on donations and their rent is $500 a month. Getting the bands paid is always the priority though and Nate is really good about it.

The turnout for the Long Nights show was awesome, I was really surprised. However, I'm sure you're aware that its always a gamble. It's Ames after all.

I'm not booking this show, but I just thought I'd spread the word. I'm trying to to help out though by finding some "local" bands, so if anyone wants to play I'm sure it'd be possible.

Try asking one step ahead, they're newer and played their first show last night.

I told Chris to ask Motivated but I think the guitarist has finals that week or something.

Also this sounds awesome. I wanna try to step up a show for Agress there.

One Step Ahead is intolerable on their recordings, but they are pretty good to watch live.

Agreed on that. This demo is painful, maybe they can point you towards more bands / musicians from around the area.

Nate that runs that venue asked Tyborn if we want to play the show. I'll ask the guys today.

nah, they are all just really young. it's all much better when you actually see them play.

Tyborn can't do this, but Nate from the venue was asking about what local or locals should be on it.

wow.

You have it backwards son. 95% of bands can sound good on a recording.

Live is different. and i hope to never see/hear this "band" .

"christian/hardcore".....now thats fucking funny right there

Okay, I just listened to this One Step Ahead band. Someone needs to tell these silly hardcore bands that they need to be YELLING instead of doing this stupid muppet tough guy vocal bullshit.

Also, fucking play faster. Soooooo boring.

That band is adding MORE members? Add some horns and a keyboardist and turn it into a ska band.
