Equipment stolen from the Haunted Basement

Post by Joe » Fri Jan 02, 2009 10:23 pm

Sometime during or after the Fare Thee Well show at the Haunted Basement on new year's eve, a ton of equipment was stolen:

A Shure SM 57 microphone in a black slim bag.
A Audio Technica 4050 vocal condenser microphone in a black block.
A Mini Big Muff pedal.
A Boss Chromatic tuner.
A power adaptor.

If you know anything at all about where this stuff could be, please let us know. The AT4050 is how we were recording and documenting all the bands playing at the Haunted Basement, and it really sucks to know that we aren't going to be able to do this in the future.

Again, if you know anything, please let us know.

I hope it turns out that this stuff wasn't stolen, because that is fucked. People work really hard to provide a place for shows and this is how they are rewarded.

Start checking pawn shops in a couple of days. That would be where I would take $800 worth of equipment I had no use for.

If this stuff doesn't turn up, I would put in money toward a new condenser microphone.

My room is not the cleanest of areas, but I've cleared it out and found no trace of any of these items. All of these items were placed in my room prior to the New Year's show.

I'm in the process of talking to fare thee well, and nick is talking to Outlive, Outlast.

I hope it was just packed up on accident, and we can get them back or something.

I'm mostly worried about the replacement of the microphones, as they are an essential part of the venue. My pedals are inconsequential.

Eric was telling me about this earlier and it's definitely fucked up. I do have a condensor mic that I've offered for Moltar to use if he likes but this stuff should be returned.

Fare Thee Well had the Audio Technica 4050, and thats all.

The guy called me, and felt really bad about the whole deal and is mailing it back as soon as their tour is finished.

As far as everything else, it seems there is still a thief(?) among us. Brandon discovered today that several of his cables for his amp were missing. So there may still more be things stolen that we haven't yet discovered.

I wish I could keep leaving my gear over there for people to practice with, but I'm feeling fairly untrustworthy of the scene at the moment.

I don't see how they didn't get both mics. They were placed together.

There are about a million cables in this house and about 5% of them work. So have fun taking those.

I will be building a storage box for this place. This way we won't need to worry about things getting mixed up or taken in the future.

Or we could somehow tag everything that belongs to the hb. Hey nate, I have 3 mics that I would like to donate to the hb. I haven't used them in years so I'm not sure how well or if at all they work, but if they work ok the place can have em. No cables but they can be backup mics.

Are you sure by several you don't mean one instrument cable and one three foot patch cable? If so, it's very likely those are mixed up in our mass of worthless cables.
jjjsXe wrote:Hey nate, I have 3 mics that I would like to donate to the hb.
I'll check these out. We still have one good vocal mic. We also have all three of SMMS's $6 mics that will work in a pinch. No worries on the mic cables. I bought three long mic cables last week that may be thrashed and returned for warranty at any time.

Working on the lock box today. I have to go to a hardware shop to fix that mailbox I rolled at work anyway.

i have an akgc2000b you can borrow if you would like until you get your AT back. Also we might have some spare sm58's down at the space if you are in need. I know we can spare at least one. Send me a pm if you are interested.

I don't know what exactly Brandon lost, he just told me that when he went over there, "all his stuff was gone" and that's all I know.

His things seem far more plausibly misplaced than taken.

WHILE I AGREE its likely that if one microphone was accidentally taken the other one was as well, I'm not there...and we don't really know.

Remember fellas, this is the internet. Lets please not start rumors about people who are mailing shit back to us. It wouldn't be prudent to insult someone who is doing us a solid.

I bought a replacement 58 in case you ever came by to pick it up. And let me tell you, this mic is clearly in mint condition.
