Probably $20. Tried to make the numbers work on a $18 ticket, but couldn't. I figure $20 for once in a lifetime is pretty decent. It would be at peoples, btw.
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
I doubt I'd go for that much.
That's just me though. The big draw there is obviously Meshuggah, which isn't my thing at all, but other people flip about it. I bet a ton of people would go

yeah... the thing i like about the tour is that is a diverse lineup in respect to the different crowds it will draw. scenies to older metal dudes to east siders to mall metal people. It's scary, but I gotta do meshuggah at some point in my life.

Re: how well would this show do? (metal)

Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
it would be in february between denver and minn
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
You should do it, Sam. It probably won't do as well as Taproot, but still....
....just kidding.
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
i would pay 20 bucks to see this show in a heartbeat. it beats the fuck out of driving to minneapolis to see it at station 4.

TDWP, dude! hahaha! my band played right before them at a generator stage during cornerstone in 2006. at the time, the singer's mom was managing them. he also had braces. they were such a joke, but kids were really into them.
this is a short clip of that show. im standing behind their drummer, thoroughly unimpressed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwM5DBRX-ug

TDWP: I could never claim to be a big fan of metal, but even I know cookie cutter "breakdown goes here" crap when I hear it
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
Hahahaha...everyone in that video looks really pissed that a band is even playing.
Sam, even though I told you last night in person, I'd also like to tell you on here: Do this damn show.

Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
p.s. the drummer had the worst case of back acne id ever seen.
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
I don't think enough people would come, honestly. But my band would enjoy playing this. Big time.

Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
i'll be hitting this tour regardless of location, hopefully it's in des moines...
seriously, those of you who don't know about Cynic NEED to check that shit out. Two albums 15 years apart and they're both milestones.
i'd be totally in for seeing Meshuggah, but we're talking about Cynic here people.

i need a shower, a shave and maybe a song with a melody
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
I'd go. And I'd most likely drag Derek along. That's two!
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
I'll be busy that night. Sorry I can't make it.

Sorry, I already have plans.kristy wrote:I'd go. And I'd most likely drag Derek along. That's two!

Oops, just realized that I made the same joke right after El Rhino. Oh well.
....just kidding.
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
Guarantee this show would do better than the Norma Jean show. Fo' sho'.
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
lol, $8250? That's not happening.......
...in DSM. How much was People's expecting?
lol, a milestone? Please tell us what else we should listen to this month. Are Behemoth still trendy?
And please explain, in your own terms, why anyone needs to listen to Cynic. Don't be afraid to go in depth- as you obviously know more about them than anybody else here.

Last time I listened to Meshuga, I think I fell asleep...BUT BOOK IT BECAUSE I WOULD APPRECIATE SEEING CYNIC!!!!!!!!!!! even if those god damn eastsiders with their methtees and all would probably be there being all like "THIS FUCKIN ROCKS MAN!!! SO HEAVY!!!!!! MOST BRUTAL METAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THRASH OR DIE!!!!!!!!
Re: how well would this show do? (metal)
People should listen to Cynic because they were one of the first bands to start introducing jazz parts into death metal. DUH. This is a milestone in technical death metal, one of the firsts, DUH. As for the second album, that's something I wouldn't call a milestone at all, however.
Varg sucks and will come back with at least two paragraphs of text trying to flex his metal knowledge, but it aint gonna work. Cynic is important in technical death metal and is def a milestone. STFU NOW.
