Hmmmmm......... Really? Not the least bit surprised. Savages. I also find it funny that they don't mention that its a black bar, but everyone already knows it is. Try to put another mundane defense together, elitists.
Fights Escalate Outside Night Club
CLIVE, Iowa -- Clive police have been called repeatedly to at a metro bar to break up fights, and now the city is considering pulling the bar's liquor license.
Club Amnesia is located at 2249 NW 86th St. It used to be named Crush.
"It's just ridiculous. You can't believe it," said Perry Palmer, owner of the Cabaret Lounge.
Palmer's business is next door to Club Amnesia.
"It's not safe. No, I have to hire extra help to patrol," said Palmer.
Palmer has been shooting videotape of what happens outside the club, which he said shows how huge parties in the parking lot turn into violent fights.
After closing on Saturday, two men fired guns in a crowd of 15 to 20 people and across busy 86th Street toward a Dahl's Food Store.
"One of them pulled a weapon, then the other pulled one and multiple rounds were fired," said Dennis Henderson, the Clive city manager.
"One of our police cars was hit and another car struck twice," said Lt. John Brodersen, of the Clive Police Department.
Police said both men got away. They said the unruly crowd has been a problem, even for a nearby Kum n Go store.
"Verbal arguments, stealing beer, lighting things on fire, public urination in the store," said Brodersen.
Another officer was recently sprayed with pepper spray outside Club Amnesia.
City officials said they required the club to hire three off duty police officers on Saturday nights. The bar uses a metal detection wand and males are padded down before they're allowed inside the business.
Police said the situation is unsafe for them and the community.
"Yeah, I'd like to see it close," said Palmer.
The city manager is meeting with the Alcoholic Beverages Division to look into suspending the liquor license.
KCCI tried to contact the owners of Club Amnesia to comment on this story, but they did not return our phone calls on Wednesday.
