This is the first time Screeching Weasel will have played Minneapolis in 17 years! The Friday night show is already sold out, but that lineup wasn't so great anyway.

Soooo...they decided to play another show Saturday night. This show has the way better lineup if you ask me.

And even though I really hate the shit Ben Weasel pulled on Jughead and it really isn't Screeching Weasel without Jughead, this is still my favorite band of all time and I probably won't get another chance to see them.

They played a one off show in Philly last weekend too and from what I hear, it was amazing. All old shit. Lots of Boogad3x, My Brain Hurts, Wiggle and Anthem material.

Below is why I really don't wanna give Ben Weasel my money. I feel so bitter about what he did to Jughead, but I can't pass up the opportunity to see "Screeching Weasel" play nearby. Anyway, Jughead had this to say about the few upcoming shows being played:

A Statement by John Jughead Pierson

(I will not respond to comments made about this statement, nor do I plan on speaking further about it. But feel free to cut and paste this statement anywhere you please.)

If it weren’t for the fact that I actually enjoy conversing with the fans of my prior bands, I would never have found out about a new band called Screeching Weasel beginning to tour.

“This can’t be the band I was in.” I say to myself. “I would have been preparing.” My mind would much prefer going to a place of calm contemplation than into a dark cold room filled with anger and the emotions associated with betrayal. So to avoid painful emoting I first took the facts that Ben and I started a band together called Screeching Weasel, we both spent all our days making that band a home for ourselves, and 18 years later we put it to rest.

This along with the statement made by both me and Ben on many occasions that the band wouldn’t be Screeching Weasel without either of us, makes me assume that this band playing isn’t Screeching Weasel, because I don’t recall having kicked myself out of the band. So it seems logical that this is not Screeching Weasel. If it were I would have to admit that I longer have friends named Ben Foster or Dan Schafer.

As for people like Ben Weasel, Dan Vapid, or even John Jughead, I have nothing to say, because they never really existed, they were just made up names for a bunch of friends that tried to do something different in order to survive and make a living in this world. And I imagine they are all still trying to make a living somehow, seeing that their band’s prominent “leader” never wanted to tour in order to make it financially viable to continue on.

got tickets for friday. got em before they announced the sat show. i would love to see tenement, but jetty boys are terrible terrible terrible.

Also saw Ben Weasel's band play almost a couple years ago now play the entire My Brain Hurts album plus some stuff off Bark Like a Dog, Boogada, etc. It was fucking great. Highly recommended. Nothing like a huge venue with EVERYONE singing every word. Totally stoked for this.

Really stoked for next Saturday.
