This was the new band the guys in outlive, outlast started. They had a really dorky scene kid for a singer and they gave him the boot.

There's already a band called Ancestors on Youth Attack...

These aren't even new songs, they're just the old ones with different lyrics and Ben doing vocals. Sounds good though.

sounds pretty good. hopefully i get to see them at the donnybrook show.

http://www.last.fm/music/Ancestors. Someone has included them amongst the other five Ancestors bands. It's fine, the Waterloo band can have the name, but it doesn't provide a prima facie sense of originality (considering that I own the 12" on Youth Attack). Some people may have never heard of any of the other Ancestors bands--I knew of two before Waterloo added their presence to the list. (And I'm not taking Last.fm's list as the total authority, there could be other Ancestors bands out there. Last.fm is simply a convenient authority.) But for those that already know of an Ancestors band, the Waterloo band loses its appeal due to the name's unoriginality.

Granted, one should listen to the music. The band sounds alright. I don't remember what they sounded like with the other vocalist. I don't listen to this kind of hardcore to be able notice the nuances of the genre; I tend to gloze over these kinds of bands. I won't listen to this on my own volition, but if I were at a show and they just so happened to play, I'd watch.
