It'd be ironic if Nicoteen & Lust could play the JEL stage.

this town needs an enema
The Des Moines Music Coalition's annual indie rock/hip hop/electronica/other showcase, Gross Domestic Product, is going big this year, with 19 bands playing five venues on Fourth Street downtown. As mentioned the other day, Iowa 90s alterntative icons House of Large Sizes will headline.

The event will be held April 13 with paid stages at Vaudeville Mews and 4th Street Theater and free stages in the Vaudeville Mews alley, The Lift and the Des Moines Social Club.

Here's the lineup:

House Of Large Sizes

Trouble Lights

The Olympics

Dustin Smith & The Sunday Silos

Land of Blood and Sunshine

Handlebar

The Seed Of Something

Wolves in the Attic

The Wheelers

Twins

H.D. Harmsen & The Electrophones

MR NASTI

Lesbian Poetry

Kris Adams

Annalibera

Jordan Mayland and The Thermal Detonators

As for You (they're playing a CD release show Saturday at House of Bricks)

Is Home Is

Madison Ray and All The Single Ladies

Patrick Tape Fleming of Poison Control Center/Gloom Balloon will be curating an evening of DJs at The Lift as part of GDP. I have some guesses on who he might get in there, but I'll hold off until he confirms them.

Tickets are $15 and go on sale today through Tikly.
