This was a band I avoided listening to because stupid kids with big words on their shirts hype it.
I just listened to it.
I was right in avoiding listening to this band and I will continue to do so from now on.

What about it don't you like Joe? Or what makes you not like it/this style of hardcore?

I don't get down with boring, been-done trendy hardcore. It makes me brain dead.
That breakdown in the first song makes me cringe.

I do have to give them points though for not shoving "BUY OUR MERCH" down my throat and linking me to their bigcartel site when I visit their myspace.

I'm sorta with Joe on this one, but I don't hate it as much.

It's just I'm sorta sick of this style of hardcore I guess. I much prefer the current 80's hardcore revival stuff (No Friends, Psyched To Die, etc.) to stuff like this...which is pretty much just 90's NYC Hardcore/Raybeez tunes.

Not bad, but not very exciting either.

I did message them. I just said that even though there was no copyright, it's pretty gay to use a name for your band that already exists, so maybe they should think about changing it. I was actually pretty nice.

Apparently they're ok with being gay.

which basically means everyone has different tastes in music. which is a given. all the extra "hate" is just drama.

Yeah...totally. I'm not debating taste here, everyone likes different stuff. I'm basically saying I just agree with Joe on this one, in that I personally don't find it exciting. No hate from me.

I think 90's hardcore blows the 80's revival shit out of the water. This band is good, and I really doubt they stole the name from a punk band in DSM.

All revival sucks. Except swing revival.
Bands should be more worried about writing good punk than trying their hardest to sound like some old shit.

No most of the Swing Revival stuff sucked. Though Big Bad Voodoo and Royal Crown Revue weren't bad most of it was as shitty and dull as the Rockabilly Revival shit.

I think you just named 40% of all the swing revival bands in the known universe.

It maybe closer to 50% now that I think of it. The only other two that come to mind are that hippie jam band turned swing Cherry Poppin' Daddies and the Squirrel Nut Zippers(who weren't really swing). However it seems there were a number of failing Ska bands that tried to do swing. I guess they had the right number of members.

So, 50/50 and this would have to exclude Country Swing cause that is more of a roots/traditional country thing.

I think its really fun to spend time arguing what kind of music a particular artist is, rather than listen to it!

Retire from what? Good taste? Sorry that's a life time job. You are born into it and die with it.
