I actually dug into "A Love Supreme" a bit more than I thought I would, but still, just not my thing. Much respect for Coltrane and his group, but I may not listen to it ever again in my life, unless I'm showing it to someone so I can see what they think.
I'll be listening to "A Kind of Blue" sometime in the near future, so we'll see if that does anything for me.

a love supreme is/was different. it took me quite a while to actually hear it. when i did it was crazy...
i grew up with my grandfathers big band teachings so i thought i knew jazz. coltrane opened up a whole world for me and explained a lot about what i already knew.
i am not a miles fan. his "cool jazz" is what i call "cooking jazz" its good in the background when your cooking dinner. although i am a big fan of his electric period.
coltranes ballads is much better imo
and much more accessible to non believers
do you like Nina Simone?

I'm definitely way more likely to be down with Nina Simone, based on the little amount I've heard.
