Every ISU fan gets all butthurt and talks about how they suck. I see it every week...and they call Iowa fans arrogant and big headed. Funny stuff..but hopefully no more losses.

How can anyone say ISU sucks at football? Just look at that new indoor practice facility- that's basically what defines a good, solid team.
They wiped out the baseball team, gymnastics, and a shitload of staff just to make way for their $110 million dollar renovation/practice facility. It's not like the university would've done that if the team only had two winning seasons in the last 20 years.

I was at the game. Figures the first home game I go to this year and it is also their first loss in 13 games.

And Varg....doesn't matter that Northwestern was an unranked team. They ALWAYS cause trouble for Iowa. I think they have won like 7 of the last 8 matchups or some shit? I think their coaching staff is one of the only ones who have really figured Ferentz out. It's like how Iowa has figured Paterno and Penn State out.

But yea, I have little hope for the rest season going well if Stanzi is out the rest of the year. Vandenberg has a strong arm, but you could really tell he had never played a college game before. He was just not sharp at all. He could be good in a few years, but needs a lot of work. They simply could not move the ball at all with him in at QB. That forced them to try a run game, but that pretty much left Wegher as the only option and whenever they'd line up for a run play, Northwestern was all over Wegher.

It really should have been 17-17 and went to OT though. That holding call in the 3rd quarter that overtunred that Wegher touchdown was fucking bullshit. There was no hold. Also, the offciating in that game was heavy skewed for Northwestern. Iowa couldn't get a holding call when Northwestern was grabbing shirts and collars the whole game. Fucking ridiculous.

And Yeah, it sucks. Iowa is out of the National Championship race now, but they still have a shot at a Big 10 Championship. That will all be decided next weekend in Columbus. With Stanzi out, I don't know if Iowa has much hope for winning that game, unfortunately.

We had pretty good seats though. 30 yard line about 40 rows back.

i'm down for a sunday sports thread. saints are fuckin killin it. really pumped about them. denver bummed me out last week but at least they beat the fucking pats (18-1 lol). hoping for good things tomorrow. won't know till at least thursday though cuz i'll be in vegas all drunk doing blow with whores and such until then.

Hawkeyes deserved this. playing to your competition in a glorified lackluster conference should not put you in national title contention. They better get stanzi a prosthetic and make him play, otherwise it is going to be ugly the rest of the way.
