It's not punk/hardcore or whatever, but fuck it, Old Crow Medicine Show rules. Not sure if it is worth the ticket price though?

I love this band, but when I saw them in Ames there were definitely a shitload of hippies there. It made me closely scrutinize my taste and where I was headed in life. Ultimately I decided that as long as I know it's good music, I won't let a few hippies ruin my good time.

I've never seen these guys before, but I would definitely imagine a show to be hippie filled, unfortunately. I am envisioning a Mr. Baber's Neighbors audience, only multiplied by 10. Must smell horrible. But like Elliot said, if the music is good, why let hippies ruin it for you?

I saw them in Ames too and they put on a great show, despite the smelly dumb hippies it was awesome, I'd go see them again definitely! I think the ticket prices last time I saw them were the same, around $25-$30.

Is their new album any good? I loved their self-titled album, but thought the one after that was not as good. Curious about the newest one.

any band basing themselves off of old time music should not(in my opinion) charge 30bucks for people to see them play, thats a load of shit.
they are good
i would never pay that much, for any band like that...
gogol bordello is the same way....dumb...bands like that played music on the streets for free to hopefully make a buck(roma music)...to me its annoying...

Meh, there's probly 2-3 good songs on the new one I like. In my opinion "Big Iron World" is the best.

See...that album didn't catch me as much as the self-titled. Maybe it was the production sounding too "polished" or something that took away from their old-timey sound? Still had some really good songs on it though. Nothing can ever top Wagon Wheel though.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and say your opinion here is wrong. Just because you can't afford the price doesn't mean it's outrageous. If a band is worth that price because of how much they draw, and the types of venues they play, then that's what should be charged.

All I'm saying is when I can show you evidence that a band like them can indeed charge that much for a ticket, then your opinion is most definitely wrong.

Haha! Dude, I'm not trying to be a dick or anything. Just trying to help you out, make it so you're not so offended when bands charge a price you perceive to be high.

allow me to reiterate...i dont dissagree with the fact that some bands gain enough popularity to charge more and more as their success grows to more adequately support themselves...IN MY OPINION, there becomes a certain point where what your charging to get in to see you becomes rediculous... but yes, that is up to the artist to decide...i know your not trying to be a dick, and im not being super overly serious...but, i personally have a problem giving that much money to an old time string band,...something about it just irks me the wrong way....but i dont know, music is music, and if people are buying, then sell it i guess...i dont know, my reasons are probably trivial...i dont really see the need to get to far into it...
