These are both going to be at the Haunted Basement and you can find the particulars on the upcoming shows forum... I'm really excited to be doing something new now and hope you guys enjoy this shit.

Nope, it's legit. Kyle is a little baby and doesn't like that Shane is Straight Edge? Matt felt like it wouldn't be Lost Hope without Kyle so he bailed. This is really lame.

This is not the case at all. Kyle quit because he and shane were no longer friends and he felt as if he was being treated poorly for NOT being straight edge. I "bailed" because the story was misconstrued into Kyle being a raging drug addict alcoholic, when that is far from the case. Also, Kyle wrote all the riffs in the band and I would not be comfortable continuing Lost Hope without him. I would hope that shane/tyler feel the same way.

Also, in the short time I was in the band, it became clear that there was problems from the beginning. I watched good songs written by Kyle be shot down for no reason. Dismissed as "nu-metal," or apparently not punk enough for certain members of the band.

Lost Hope was an awesome band and I had a good, albeit short, time playing in the band. Unfortunately small things, all of them having NOTHING to do with music or drugs, added up and wrecked it.

I remember exactly what you were talking about. Just because he wrote a riff doesn't mean all the members in the band liked it. The one in question you are talking about, fucking sucked.

Matt that's bullshit and you know it. Kyle and I were friends until VERY recently. He had never been "treated poorly for not being straight edge", he is simply manufacturing reasons to not be in this band so he can go write crooshal jamz with his other friends.

Here's where I get the thought that Kyle doesn't like me because I'm straight edge. This is a conversation Kyle and I had a few nights ago:
Shane - I feel like there's a completely unnecessary distance between you and me because you feel like we can't hang out because I'm straight edge.
Kyle - yeah

Kyle - well, if you choose not to partake in it, you obviously think there is something wrong about it, which doesnt exactly make me want to surround you with it.

I never said anything about Kyle being a "raging drug addict alcoholic", I just wanted to hang out with him and he refused to do so on the grounds that our interests are different, which appears to me, based on all the evidence I have, to be because of straight edge.

Some riffs suck, everyone knows that. Drum parts I wrote got shot down for not sounding good, it's just part of the songwriting process.

I had a much longer reply typed up but it didn't send, so fuck it.

Basically:

tyler, you never contributed any money or effort into anything band-related. You never even carried gear until shane had a talk with you about it. We all took turns taking you to and from practices/shows.


At every practice I attended, we played our set and then you sat on the computer/played mario in the other room while randomly talking down song ideas.
Yesterday, after we practiced our (ten minute) set one time, you took a nap for an hour or two while we jammed. Then we took you home.

When discussing t-shirt purchasing, we knew you wouldn't contribute so shane, adam and I decided to split the costs.

You replying to my opinion with a "fuck you, good riddance" is a perfect example of how ungreatful a prick you are.

Have fun finding more members for the tyler backing band.

Shane, your exact text to me tonight was "I feel bad because 3 bands ended because of me." You know that Kyle leaving has nothing to do with you being straight edge and everything to do with you involving personal friendships with bands too often.
