Band Bio

“Hard work”, “dedication”, and “integrity” are terms which are often overused in the world of independent music. However, in regards to Northern California punk rockers Final Summation, no three terms could be more fitting. Playing nearly 500 shows since forming in 2000, Final Summation founding members Jordan Wolfe and Bear Williams started playing music together in the thriving Northern California punk scene of the mid-90’s playing in a band called The Peeping Toms and quickly became close friends and colleagues with California punk staples The Groovie Ghoulies and The Secretions. Combining the lyrical influence of The Clash with the locomotive relentlessness of The Ramones and the undying love for Rock n Roll of Motorhead, Final Summation burst onto the Northern California punk scene screaming out of the gates with a self-released “United Yet Divided” in 2000, “Hope Never Dies” in 2002, “The Hand-Out E.P.” in 2003, and what many Northern California punk rock music fans called the best independent release of 2005, “To Progress or To Fade”. Final Summation also made their presence known on a variety of highly notable compilations such as “The Scratch Magazine Warped Tour Sampler” in 2004, “The Warped Tour DIY Stage Compilation” in 2005, “The Backyard City Rockers 4” in 2007, and “The Rock n Roll Threeway” in 2007. Many noting that contributions from Final Summation were the stronger of the songs included. In 2008, Final Summation released the long-awaited full-length “A New Approach” on Smelvis Records. This CD contains 14 blistering tracks which have been live favorites for years and is considered by several Sacramento CA music journalists as the best punk rock release of 2008. Living up to the three standards of “hard work”, “dedication”, and “integrity”, Final Summation is never a band to find solace in staying at home waiting for the multi-million dollar recording contract. Within a matter of 5 years, Final Summation has gone on 4 National Tours, 4 Mid-West Tours, countless West-Coast Tours, and numerous “mini-tours”. Playing with bands like The U.S. Bombs, The Vibrators, Civet, Flatfoot 56, Circle Jerks, GBH, The Hollowpoints, Left Alone, The River City Rebels, Street Dogs, The Real McKenzies and many more, Final Summation has done more than enough to earn their “road stripes” as one of the hardest touring bands to ever come out of Northern California. For Final Summation, the road to Rock n Roll is one filled with pot-holes and detours. It also the road that quenches their thirst for writing, recording, and playing the music that flows through their veins. They are a band with whom “hard work” is found commonplace. They are a band with whom “dedication” is without question. They are a band with whom “integrity” is their building block. --Dan Secretion 2008
