Funny, I was just thinking the other day about how we haven't had any good "fuck this, I'm leaving" posts in a very long time.

Wish we could've at least gotten one out of Storkus, I bet it would've been good. This one, not so much.

If i ever left the scene
I wouldn't get too far
how could i miss a single zine
or a flyer on the wall
and if there ever was a show
i know i'd have to go
and see all of my friends
I'm gonna be right here until the end

A couple years and you're gone
Straight Outta Hardcore
now you're moving on
Straight Outta Hardcore
when it was trendy you were down
Straight Outta Hardcore
and now you're no where to be found
Straight Outta Hardcore

So now we have all grown
The old days are long gone
I guess i should have always known
you were just playing along
and now you wonder where it went
cause you live your whole life in the past
I'll be living for the present
and won't spend my time just looking back

Ya know, once you leave, you can't ever come back. This is no revolving door operation. It is punk rock...shit's for LIFE!

What do you mean "anymore." When were you around when there were punks? The scene has been generally the same for the past couple years, and I certainly don't remember seeing you at any shows up until a few months ago. Even when there were more "punks," I don't recall seeing you at any Suburban Scum or Wheel Bite shows. Also, Hardcore is punk, punk is hardcore...blah blah, it is all good music and there are plenty of people around here playing it.

I beleave you've been listning to Die Mutts new cd ALOT! 1st, THANK YOU! I like how you quote words from the song "No Rules", 2nd i forgot to mention after the 100th time listning to it you'll start to act out aginst society and start fights with all your friends.

when I first noticed this in myself, I thought I was just naturally an asshole! that's not the case. I later made the connection, I was listning to my own songs 500 sometimes even 700 times a day. I would drink alone in the closet of my closet, just listning to Die Mutts. it was all the food I needed, nothing and knowone could stop my hate! even the fly that buzzed around started hating, he would die bomb in the face me everytime I took a drink. and his hatred made him fly faster I could not stop him.
after many years of this one day I got so pist I broke a full beer! the gold fluid ran into the cd player and it exploded!

now I'm normal again. the end

the moral of the story is,
I never met a punk who cared about what people thought of them.

sooooooo...start a punk band, stud a vest, charge your hair, wear a snear, get over it, and make punk a threat again...as long as i've been around, des moines has always been a fairly diverse scene...with a little bit of everything...hxc seems to be a little more popular these days...the scene goes in cycles...
