Fruit fly infestations are not good for food gatherings.

I checked with the good folks at the Des Moines Social Club and they OK'd the move for the vegan pot luck that was scheduled for tonight at the Haunted Basement. We'd be coexisting with an event called Synchopate.

There'd be meat free treats, live dj's, good people, and beer that flows like rivers.

Let me know what you think, I haven't cleared this with Nate yet. I'm waiting on his call. Food would start around 7.

Haunted Basement is clean. Come over with food/drink and enjoy food/drink. People may play acoustic sets, just depends on if anyone wants to. If we want to randevous with the social club later then that can go down. This is not a formal thing, so no rules tonight Des Moines!

I'll be doing drunk kung fu improv with jazz sensibilities at the social club tonight. its your pick. i'[ll prolly stop back at the haunted basement to drink steel reserve.

I like the HB atmosphere better than the Social Club, but if DD Sparks is playing, I got to go to the DMSC.

I lied. DD Sparks is not tonight. Thats two saturdays from now. I still promise drunken Kung Fu improv with jazz sensibilities, though.

I chose the HB for my potluck needs and wasn't disappointed. Food was good, Jimmy H. did some good acoustic stuff (really liked the Mike Park cover), Jill was drunk. All around fun stuff.

I drove by the HB about 1 am with a pineapple and a six pack of MHL tallboys, but it looked dead so now I'm just stuck taking Shaggy for a walk and listening to Buckcherry.

Potter's drunken kung fu with douchebag's scooping the loop was pretty tight. Watching him run from the police, who apparently frown upon such activities, was even better.

Not only am I off the wagon, I fell off the back hitch and ate a mouthful of whiskey soaked gravel. These things just happen to me, I swear I don't plan it!..

But Rob's right, i totally had to run from cops. They even said "Run you bastard..." What was I supposed to do with advice like that?!

the pot luck at the HB was a success BTW. I stopped out for a bit and ate some peppers and potatoes indian style with corn chips! Good job Des Moines on providing an awesome Memorial Day Weekend.
