Cool new-ish venue in Ames that books most of the indie and underground stuff we get nowadays. A lot of Des Moines bands play this place. I'll try to keep this updated with shows people here might like. All shows are $4 or $5

June 10: The Unit Breed, Taciturn, Craig!, Steve Hefter and Friends of Friends
June 15: adam robert hauG, Capgun Coup, Bear Country, Conchance
June 16: My Heart to Joy
June 17: Midwest Dilemma (folk/americana from Omaha)
June 18: The Ghostwrite, New York Taxi, Waiting for May, Jon Creeden (folk punk bands)
June 26: Vinyl Williams (prog/post hardcore), Atombender (ames)
July 2: This Is A Stick Up, I Apparatus (hxc with horns and a girl)
July 20: These Little Nothings, Wet Chemistry, Jettison Never
July 30: The Diamond Stretch (punk/screamo, friends with Ringbearer I guess?)

I don't understand how a punk or hardcore show would work at this place.

Not saying anything bad, I think its a sweet place, just doesn't seem like it would fit the vibe.

Quite possibly even more awkward.

derek pretty much nailed it.

i would also like to see more $$ go to bands vs. the space and wish it wasn't down on the drinking. i remember drinking my fat tire out of a coozy while i was there, not a big deal, but less than ideal.

at this point in ames it's become an important space.

rip practice space
