Popeye's runs a $4.99 for an 8 piece bucket deal and runs out of chicken early in the day and has to close down. The people's reactions are kind of funny.

I guess this thread is vegan due to the absence of chicken.

I happen to love Popeye's! The chicken is pretty damn good if you're in the mood for a cholesterol binge. The jambalaya is suprisingly good for fast food.

We had a white dude come in where I work wanting to have his 8 year old daughter tested for Swine Flu because she sat next to a Mexican kid in school. A mexican kid that has never been to Mexico in his life. The doctor laughed his ignorant ass out of the room.

Then an older white dude came in and said " I know this may be ungodly, but I want to be tested for Swine Flu because I sat next to a hispanic man in church.

I remember when it opened on Merle Hay, I was working on 86th. So I'd hop on the interstate and drive the one exit down during my break and try to order something...every day I went there for two months and came back empty handed so I gave up. The line wouldn't even go 5 feet forward in a half hour. So, fuck that place.

KFC isn't much better either, the only good thing about that place is Patton Oswalt's 'failure pile in a sadness bowl' joke.

On the first weekend it was open I stood in line for an hour and a half behind a fat white girl and her litter of unruly screaming mulatto brats to get some Popeye's. Love that chicken!

I haven't been there in about two years though.

Hell yeah! on the Church's. There was one on the neighborhood I lived in in Minneapolis right down the street from the Popeye's and White Castle. I was in paradise. I still hit them when I'm in the Twin Cities

The Church's is long gone, but the White Caslte and Popeye's are standing strong. I think there may still be a Church's in St. Paul on University Ave not too far from The Turf Club. Anyone confirm?

Popeyes makes the whole block around Merle Hay smell so fucking bad. I have to deal with it all the time and I have almost puked at least twice while walking to my car. I want my bagels back, please.

I never tried to actually go in. I figured the drive thru would be faster, but I was wrong. The same thing probably would have happened if I went in, that place always seemed pack when I drove by.
