The Nosh kosher deli used to have the best sandwich in Des Moines, but I don't think they are around anymore, are they? Their corned beef and pastrami was unfuckwithable.

Where was this located at? I don't know if it's the same one, but the meat shop that used to be near Grand & E 30th street was awesome. I remember walking up there with my mom when I was about 7 or 8 and the guys behind the counter hooked it up with smokies and pieces of cheese.

I know they tore it down a few years ago and there is hotel now instead.

no one ever mentions manhattan deli, it's really fucking good. Vegetarian stuff is good too. I need to check this B&B though.

Both of the "killer sandwiches" are good there (Dad's Killer and Italian Killer) and the cappicola sandwich is worth trying - something that doesn't seem to appear on too many sandwiches north of the rivers.

i was a big fan of cappicola when i was a bloodmouth.

Every time I got my hair cut at Gomez's when I was a little kid my dad took me to get a killer sandwich. Probably one of the only things I miss since becoming vegan.

Italian Killer is one of the best sandwiches, ever! Dad's Killer, also bomb! Baratta's has a great Capicola sandwich. Manhattan makes some good stuff, too! Jimmy John's is like a subway or Quizno's, if you can't get anything else, it will do. Palmer's sucks old stuck-up rich person balls. Except their soup. They turn a delicious reuben into a rock-hard tasteless piece of crap like nobody's business. Dowtown Deli and west street deli in Ames still hold a special place in my heart. Is West St deli even around anymore, haven't been in that area in years. Oh and gay marriage.
