Yeah I use to do shows here and there but never really anything I was proud of. Most paid gigs are looking for the equivalent of a cover band. It kind of takes the fun out of it. I mostly just juggle to juggle, its a nice creative outlet. Personally I think the juggling community is way cooler than the music community too and its fun to travel to conventions and hang out with other like minded people a few times a year.

Des Moines has a juggling club if anyone is interested. It's pretty small at this point but they meet at the YMCA downtown on Sundays. It's free and unorganized, just some people unicycling and throwing shit in the air for a few hours. I'll be in town this Sunday and I'll probably end up going.

This is pretty sweet, but it's time for the real challenge: Chainsaws.

yeah you know i've been really curious about that for a long time, actually. I saw a guy juggling chainsaws in amsterdam... is that shit real or what?

The chainsaws are usually modified with a handle and a trigger that can be held on (no safety mechanism) but also the blade is generally taken off of the chainsaw. This isn't always the case and I know a guy who cut his hand pretty decent juggling them (hes not very smart though).

But its a novelty thing, its really not that difficult. I'd like to say pretty much everything in that video I posted is harder. As long as you can juggle a heavy club without catching the wrong end its no big deal. Same thing with fire, knives, garden weasels, whatever.

yeah i totally believe you. the shit you were doing looked tech-y as hell... in skateboarding its the same way... generally people who don't do it themselves have no idea what's going on.

Still though... chainsaws seems pretty intense!
