Taken from a friends post:

Sorry if anyone is actually expecting shit or a fan. This is, of course, a political post. I haven't been posting too much recently because Obama retook the lead about a week and a half ago.

Today McCain....suspended his campaign?

This boggles my mind.

Dave Letterman hits the point at about 6:20.

McCain wants to be the hero who saved our economy then got elected to be president. And I think a good majority of the population will think he is doing just that. Sad times...

Postponing the debate would be a horrible idea though. I can see them avoiding as much face to face with Obama as possible. McCain just doesn't stand up on a speaking level.

dave pretty much wrecked shop last night.

quite a day for johnny. suspend your campaign...receive a call from barack and agree to make a joint statement on this money situation then go behind his back and do it by yourself. personally call dave and cancel telling him you have to rush off to washington to save the country all the while you're actually just heading to a different studio to play dress up with katie couric.

dave and olberman also mentioned last night that the mccain camp was probably working to get the vp debate cancelled. and i guess today they have already started trying to delay it.

McCain camp to propose postponing VP debate
Posted: 08:58 AM ET

From CNN Correspondent Dana Bash

Biden and Palin are set to debate October 2.
(CNN) — McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.

In this scenario, the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin would be rescheduled for a date yet to be determined, and take place in Oxford, Mississippi, currently slated to be the site of the first presidential faceoff this Friday.

Graham says the McCain camp is well aware of the position of the Obama campaign and the debate commission that the debate should go on as planned — but both he and another senior McCain adviser insist the Republican nominee will not go to the debate Friday if there's no deal on the bailout.

Why would they want to cancel it?! The McCain camp is looking to score some points and Palin v Biden is a great place to do it.

Dude, you've obviously never seen Gottfried in the ring. Get your facts straight before you go posting something like this, Elliot.
