This Is Iowa Compilation

Post by mattpulpfree » Mon Jul 14, 2008 2:36 pm

1.
Ok so, if you don't already know, I'm Matt from Waterloo.
Mainly I wanted to start this thread to get feedback and help with bands and pictures and other such things.

2.
If you haven't read the other thread, I am just starting work on Volume II.
I currently have these bands for sure on Volume II:
- the box flower
- driving while stupid ?? (I heard someone from this band posts here sometimes, I should probably ask if it's cool but multiple people told me they wouldn't care at all if I did this...if you're not cool with being on it I understand, just let me know and I'll take you off.)
- plague city
- burn the rest
- here's my chance
- from citizen to soldier
- desperation
- helmer

3.
here are some bands that I have tried getting a hold but have gotten no response from, so if you know how to contact them...send them my way!
OR
these are bands that I have gotten a hold of an still have yet to send me songs, so if you are in one of these bands get at me to let me know whats up.

-Circlepit Assholes
-General Sherman
-Tyborn Jig
-With Guns Blazing
-Orsen Wells
-Knuckled Down
-Beat Stings
-The Tanks
-Raccoo-oo-oon
-optimist
-brooks strause
-skin of earth
-grave digging shovels
-so long!
-monstro
-35" Mudder
-Grubby Ernie
-Guilty as Charged
-Safety Second
-wet hair
-Old Scratch Revival Singers
-William Whitmore
-Before The Gallows
-Ely Falls

yeah many of the bands are defunct now, but it doesn't matter.

4.
Suggest bands too me as well, post myspace links or if you're in a band just send me an mp3 at thisisiowa@gmail.com and just give me the name of your band and the song name or something.

5.Post pictures from shows of Iowa bands, of Iowa Crowds, anything related to Iowa. I'm pretty sure I have the cover for Volume II...but I'm not sure yet, so just post it. This goes for flyers as well, any shows in Iowa, post them here or in a comment on the myspace (http://www.myspace.com/thisisiowa).

UPDATE

1. I was going to try to make it to the signs of hope show tomorrow but money problems have come up and getting new tires SUCKS. I have 200 copies of THIS IS IOWA, NOT HEAVEN VOLUME I made. I will be getting another 200 next week. If you're band is going out for a few days on a short tour or something let me know, I'll try to get you some copies. I can't promise a ton of copies but I'll at least try to get you 50 for sure. Just let me know.

If you're planning on getting Bridgestone/Firestone tires from a Firestone store or Tires Plus, I can hook you up with a discount card for 10 or 15% over cost. Will trade for a copy of the cd when it comes out.

Mikey, Kenny, and Tony sometimes post here, but JUST DO IT (LOL).

Also, this is why you don't want 35" Mudder on your comps:

IT'S A FULLSCALE WAAAAR (BRING IT, BRING IT)
IT'S A FULLSCALE WAAAAR (BRING IT ON!)

IT'S A FULLSCALE WAAAAR (BRING IT, BRING IT)
IT'S A FULLSCALE WAAAAR (BRING IT ON!)

alright volume II is starting to come together quite nicely.
If anyone wants on this thing I need to speak with you ASAP.
I've tried to keep up with being in contact with everyone but most people have said they'd get back to me or would send me stuff and still have yet to.
I understand things get delayed sometimes and that's totally cool

But I am looking at September 6th as the date I want this completely ready by so...I need to get more songs now.

pm me or get ahold of me on myspace or through the gmail.
