Anyone keeping up on this?

I just watched Turkey vs. Croatia, it went into extra time 0-0 with Croatia scoring a goal at about 118 minutes. I was under the impression that they only added a minute of stoppage time, but Turkey scored a goal in a little over a minute. Turkey won in the shootout. Although I would've loved to see Croatia win (fuck Turkey), it was a good match. Turkey goes on to face Germany on Wednesday. Hopefully Germany wins that one.

Tomorrow is the Netherlands vs. Russia. I think this one is going to be a good match-up, but I'm going to give the nod to the Netherlands. I'm going to try to wake up early enough (I work nights) to catch this one.

Richard and I watched this, and we were losing it towards the end. What an awesome finish.

Germany beats Turkey, 3-2. Great match, although coverage kept going out due to weather interference. Two goals were missed in a short period of time due to it. Germany goes on to play the winner of tomorrow's Spain vs. Russia on Sunday.

I think a lot of the more talented teams have showed poor quality in the finals... Germany 3-2 over Turkey?!?! Germany should be far better than that, especially over a Turkey squad that had most of its starters out through suspension and injury. Spain left it late with Italy(who looked terrible all the way through). The Netherlands made Russia look like champions. France and the Czechs went out in the group stages. Its an odd finals... I guess England not even making the finals should have been a sign of things to come.

Russia are playing pretty well and Spain have gotten worse each match... I wouldn't mind seeing a Russia v Germany final.

No Ballack for Germany

No Villa for Spain

Spain have the upper hand now... Villa is incredibly over-rated and with him out it gives Cesc the chance to start (it is a crime he has not started every match for Spain). He is probably the best central midfielder in the world. Germany struggles to mesh without Ballack. It should still be a wide open game... Hopefully the teams can finish and put some goals on the board.
