Yeah, isn't that weird?

Can I ask why some even wanted this thread deleted? I've always been opposed to censorship of the board, especially when bands or their managers occasionally email me threatening to sue.

In reviewing the skinhead thread earlier after a request from another moderator, I didn't find any need to delete it. People were just discussing an unsavory newstory, with a few once again defending unwarranted violence.

Unfortunately there is no way for me to undelete the thread. Otherwise, I'd add it back, if for no other reason than to stare at a few fine hard butts again.

Actually, come to think of it, it hasn't happened for a while now. The last time it occurred The Lifestyle's manager was threatening legal action if I didn't remove a thread. Said topic basically included a bunch of posts insulting the band, but it had started as a result of a rumor that they had been signed to a major label. The manager stated that such rumors were damaging to their ongoing business negotiations and seemed stunningly concerned over the trivial thread discussion.

I wrote a very professional reply, refusing to remove any posts.

What legal right did he list to sue. I don't see how that is slander or anything that would call for a lawsuit. It may have been more to do with the fact he really thought some A&R fuck was reading this board. That's a strange thought in itself. Think of it, someone from a record label going to 515crew for information on a local band.

Personally, I don't believe in any form of censorship regardless of it's content especially if I don't agree with it. I didn't read much of the thread after the post to the article. Could this be someone is worried about law enforcement?

I will say though that I find it interesting that a fight in the Court Ave area made the new paper at all. It's clear that the only reason was because "Skinheads" were involved. Now if it was Rodeo Clowns or Shrimers it would have never made the news unless it was a truff war between two. Imagine Rodeo Clowns chasing down guys in little cars wearing funny little hats and beating the shit out of them. Now that's a good news story.

They had a lot of interest from smaller labels, but that is about it... I used to live with Kyle and they had interest for a long time. For whatever reason nothing materialized.

As a former member of The Lifestyle, I'll tell you why nothing ever materialized. Every time we were in a meeting with one of the thousands of major labels that were courting us at the time, skinheads would kick down the door to the boardroom and start stomping around the place, ripping up the contracts we were about to sign and thus scaring away every label. Sucks man.

Also Greg, you can expect a call from my lawyer for bringing up that little "incident" (which by the way, I didn't even know about!)
