I know Newton came up with Calculus during his 18 month break from Cambridge. And the theory of universal gravitation. . . done.

Hooke only looks like a weiner cause Newton totally destroyed his image (literally) and one of his enemies wrote the first biography on him, from which 200 years worth of biographical information was taken.
The dude figured out so many things.

I vote hooke. look no further than Newton's association(s) with alchemy/freemasonry and it's not hard to believe that he skewered an honest man's good name to take credit for his work....
