Exhibition and Community Celebration of the Life of Joe Page
Ritual Café
August 2008
There will be an exhibit of art works celebrating the life of Joe Page at the Ritual Café in August 2008. There are several ways in which you can contribute to the piece that will contemplate and celebrate Joe’s life, music, relationships and artworks.
There will be 4 different elements that will be included in the exhibition; Photo Collage, Reflective Prayer/ Art Flags, Memory Book and Performances at the Reception. Feel free to participate in one or more elements of the exhibition.
How to participate and submit:
Photo collage
Provide a high quality black and white Xerox image of Joe, alone or in a group
Image no larger than 11x14
These images will be dry mounted on a board, possibly cut and/or manipulated.
We may also add other objects to the collage so if you have any specific objects less than 3 pounds that you don’t mind being use, submit that.
Due by June 30th 2008

Reflective Prayer/ Art Flags
It is believed that the thought, pray and intention of the Tibetan Prayer Flag is release in the wind.
Fabrics that are painted or decorated will be hung from the ceiling of the Cafe
To participate you must contact the Amy or Dawn to receive a piece of the fabric.
You are free to do what you wish with your piece of fabric: paint, draw, embellish.
Due by June 30th 2008


Memory Book
Provide a story, poem, memory of or about Joe
8.5 x 11 sheet(s) of paper
These writings will be put in a memory book that will be part of the exhibition. Viewers will be free to add to the book during the exhibition. The book will be given to Joe’s children when the exhibition closes.
Due by June 30th 2008

You might want to serch the board there was a topic on here when he died.

He was a member of the music scene in Des Moines from the early 80s till his death. Drummer for a lot of the early DMHC bands, the Hollowmen, Delstars and Voodoo Gearshift to name a few.
