I respect the hell out of nirvana.....

But I think Kurt Cobain was rather uncreative, and unintelligent......and definately (OBVIOUSLY) held Nirvana back......creatively.....

however he did them a service by his death, causing the band to be notorious.....

If you ask me the reason Nirvana was great was Krist Novoselic.....

his bass lines hold those tattered songs together.....

Dave really should have stuck to the drums as well.......

I was just listening to probot earlier actually.....

SHAKE YOUR BLOOD

I almost wish Nirvana never got discovered so we would not have to deal with all these fucking crappy fm bands that blatently want to be Nirvana

And so I say to you, America, that Kurt Cobain wasn't brought back from the dead by identity thieves. He came back because he wanted to; because he knew it was time to take his revenge; because you, America, you deserve to burn; you will burn........Think of the TV interview with the policeman in Night of the Living Dead (1968): like any walking corpse or zombie, America may not give up, but it will "go up real easy."

well, Nirvana AS A WHOLE, had good music, great music, I would never want to see Kurt play those songs solo.....personally.....

and I bet it would have been somewhat embarrassing.....

I also really only like two songs off the probot cd, Shake your Blood with Lemmy, and the track with King Diamond on vocals, the title escapes me...

Nirvana has just never been my jam, I was pretty young when they came up, so I only ever heard it on shitty stations like lazer.

yap. youre too young. i didnt listen to much radio then but nirvana was a whole lot different than what was getting airplay. i was never that into them(i was really stuck on black flag/bad brains then) but they were a hellofa lot better than the fading hairspray metal.

That's pretty much my point when I argue why I hate nirvana. I can see why someone who is just a bit older than me would be really into them, and having it be legit, but someone my age who grew up having those stupid fucking "hits" pounded into my head...forget about it.

Yeah, Nirvana sounded a lot better 16 years ago. Their stuff hasn't aged well. A lot of what made it so great was the context of the times.

I suppose their insufferable legions of post-suicide fans don't help either.

man, i was way into nirvana starting in like second grade. i still listen to them a lot and it totally takes me back. nirvana definitely pathed the way for me in music. if i hadn't found nirvana, i don't know what i would be listening to today.

i find the "hits" they had boring, but what i loved was their unreleased songs like "even in his youth" and "d7", the songs only a true fan of grunge rock in the early 90's know about. i owe my ability to play guitar, bass and drums to nirvana, the first song i ever learned on guitar in 1993 was heart shaped box out of a guitar world magazine. those were some of the best days of my life. Thom, you'll never understand.

I completely agree, you are right I can't understand. Its cool though. I'm sure if I searched hard enough I could find "my nirvana" that no one else will understand.

mine would probly be KISS, janes addiction and alice cooper. nirvana was too late for me. i already had mudhoney and the first earth album(which cobain is on) by the time they came out.

Alice Cooper and Kiss are entirely different animals than Nirvana...

If you do not think alice cooper lyrics are not more poetic and more intelligent then Kurt Cobain's I would run myself to the ground trying to show you otherwise!

when I was little I looked at it as.....
I would rather hang out with Alice Cooper and Kiss fans over Nirvana fans any day.....

Why not hang out with fun people, rather then hang out with the depressed kids who smell kinda funny and wear flannel all the time.
(not saying their bad kids but, they just need to get out more)

I just saw Ace Frehley last weekend!

It was amazing!

I saw his aura!

He opened with Strange Ways.....

OMFG
I thought I was dreaming
