"5 cases in Anoka so far this year"---is that considered an epidemic? I havn't seen any cases of TB in Iowa lately.

Not really related, but the news stations up here are a joke.

IOWA has 43 this year. TB is very common. theres lots of carriers, the outbreak of Tb is what is uncommon.

you quoted the last part of the sentence but not the first? did you even read it?
"There were
200 cases of tuberculosis last year, and 5 cases in Anoka so far this year."

This is pretty much what I've gathered from working at a hospital. To keep people safe employees get free testings for TB every six months just to be safe.

I don't understand your point. If we assume there will be another 200 cases this year, and there's already 5 in Anoka, that's 2.5% of all cases limited to ONE small Podunk town in Minnesota. How does that not sound odd to you?

it doesnt sound odd to me because Anoka is not a podunk town. Anoka is a suburb of the twin cities and if i remember right they have quite a propotionally large healthcare industry, compared with the rest of the twin cities.
