I hear some dude from the Transgressions puts on some pretty fucking rad house shows in Madison. Coincidentally, his name is Ben too. I'm sure he is way cooler than Ben Weasel though.

We're playing some acoustic and psych bands I guess, haha. We're the only punk band playing that night I'm pretty sure.

Yeah, Ben is a pretty cool dude. I have been riding mopeds with him lately. His buddy Stan has a sweet warehouse and they put on shows there sometimes, and there are like two houses that put on shows a few blocks from my place.

There do seem to be a lot of weasel-esque pop-punk bands here. I didn't know that Ben Weasel lived in/near Madison though.

Yeah we played there. We ended up getting called jocks Unfortunately, both times QF played in Madison the shows have been a total bust. Left a really sour taste in my mouth for the town.

That Ben guy seems cool enough though. Apparently some band in Dubuque(?) has been trying to get The Transgressions to play there for a while now. I've been trying to convince him to just come to CF instead tho.

I'd love to get the Transgressions to play the HB. Same with the Jetty Boys from Sheboygan. Same with Get Rad from Milwaukee. Same with The Dopamines from Cinci.

there's no free/cheap burgers associated with the saturday performance, just j.r.fs. goodness/reefer gladness, right?

i want to come, but burgers alone aren't really enough to pull me from my ankeny home unless there's something else involved. or something free.

I wasn't able to get over there this afternoon....how'd this go, JRS? How was the food?

It wasn't too bad considering it was pretty early for us to be playing. They had us play outside facing the parking lot.

The burgers were quite good. It didn't make me wanna jizz all over the place, but I'd say it's a good burger for the money. All I had room for was a Baja Burger and Smash Fries before we played and a Classic with a fried egg and a strawberry shake after we played. They were both really good. I really liked the the Smash Fries too.

They also gave us $50 in Smashburger Bucks for later.

I really wanted to go to this. did ou have to supply your own PA? I ate there just now not too bad, I like how there is a big bucket of beers right there where you place your order.

We had to supply our own PA. I liked the buckets of beer too. 9.99 for four beers isn't too bad a price for a restaurant. Unfortunately, the Smashburger bucks they gave us can't be used to buy beer.
