I go to Des Moines shows
1) When I'm in town,
2) That I think will be good, and
3) When I have time.
It's rare that all three of these conditions are met for me, so I'm not surprised that you've only seen me at "one show in the last five years" or whatever....

Brandon has an extensive will that Jacob and Eric and I are to fulfill upon his death.
I fear that if he doesn't die before I get much older I won't be able to complete his outlandish requests.
I'm sure if any of us kindly asked him to die off he would respond with "Yeah right, then who else would get drunk and lose his car keys in his pocket for an hour!"

Clinton saw it yesterday, he was laughing but also a little creeped out. I think he may have secretly been into it.

I just realized I never did this, sorry for resurrecting a dead thread
talent: The Envy Corps- I saw these guys on Friday again for the first time in a while. It was so good to hear some of the Soviet Reunion songs I grew up with. Just a talented and entertaining band with good songs, no matter how much Luke wants to be Thom Yorke.
entertainment: Poison Control Center
heavy: Approaching Nain
honorable mentions: Tyborn Jig, everything Aeon Grey does
local trend that is hilarious: goodbye metalcore, hello pop punk
come back please: Stuck With Arthur

thank you for liking my band and thinking that were heavy, i dig heavy.
metalcore is still cool, i love the chariot. and pop punk has always been cool, just look at all of us geeking out on the blink thread. some people were just too xtuffx to let people know they jammed take off your pants and jacket in their ride.
stuck with arther hasnt been playing shows? thats a bummer. i liked that band. i saw christopher the conquered at this margo and the nuclear so&so's show and he was actually very good. guess hes in pcc now?

-March! We're done with it but we couldn't get a cd release show scheduled til then.
-for real
-I'm not saying that this board necessarily is done with metal, but all the ames kids and some des moines kids seem to be jumping ship on something they used to be 100% devoted to
-Stuck With Arthur was taking it slowly due to half the band being in DSM and half being in Iowa City, then Adam got married, and Chris has been busy with PCC and CTC. And I thought they had broken up. But I guess they've been working on new stuff recently.

I don't think they really jump ship, but they do grow up and/or move away.
