@'s right. Luke scratch the Mountain Crest, we're going with Parrot Bay and Spanish Fly tomorrow. Animal Mothers, play some Jack Johnson to set the mood.

-Joe.
Right outside of Chicago.
Sorry to be a stickler, but aren't they from Champaign? That's not right outside Chicago, it's like 2 1/2 hours away. Kind of by Springfield.

According to Folks from Illinois I have talked to, if you live in the state of IL, you live in Chicago. No one wants to admit they are from a suburb, or live at the southern most tip of the state. It sounds cooler if you are from Chicago.

it's true. 80% of our drake customers are from "chicago", yet most of them don't even live remotely close to it. not sure why but it annoys me.

Because if you say you're from Elgin, Lake Park, Schaumburg, Berwyn or whatever most of the time people will have no idea where those places are and it saves time and effort by saying "Chicago" or "Chicago area" instead of the following:

"Berwyn"

"Oh, where's that? Is that near Chicago"

"Yes"

I'm sure many of you are from WDM, Urbandale, etc and would say you're from Des Moines if you were in Chicago. No one would know where Altoona or Norwalk is at.

right, but we're talking about people who are from, say, carbondale or somewhere nowhere near chicago, but still claim it.

Right, but I don't know where Carbondale is at so they might as well say Chicago or their distance from Chicago.

Nevermind, I looked up Carbondale on a map. Doesn't make sense. I thought it was closer into the Chicago area.

There used to be a guy from Aurora that went to Drake and had a ska band. We would always say things to him like "Hey, we're going to Stan Mikita's after the Shitty Beatles show at Comrades" to fuck with him. Apparently there was a band from that area called The SkaBeatAlls or something like that he kept trying to get to play here. "What? The Shitty Beatles are coming?"

Bring your axe. You're going to need it to break a hole in the ice and dispose of the body.
