I never once said some of the bands I listen to don't alter their voices or use Auto Tune. I know that is the case. But the bands I listen to pretty much only use it as a means of "pitch correction" to smooth out the notes they can't hit. They don't use it as some sort of fucking robot effect to completely change the way the human voice sounds. That is what I was talking about and that certainly has fucking ruined modern pop music. People have been completely fucking up the way guitars sound using filter and glitch pedals for quite some time now, don't get mad that the same mentality is being applied to vocals. There are times when Auto-Tune'd vocals sound GREAT within a song, but there are also times when it's absolutely ridiculous (see: 808's & Heartbreak).
