before i was 21 i used to go to shows and sit outside and listen. i know its not the same but i got a lot of fond memories from it.

I'm way out of the loop on shows in the DSM area anymore, but it used to be very easy to get into 21+ shows at Vaudeville, they usually didn't even check ID's.

Apparently they've started doing that again. I heard people were turned away from the last Old Scratch show.

for what it's worth, he didn't say he was going to sneak in, just that he wished he could come. it was kurtis that made the suggestion.

kurtis has always been a bad influence and all around person of ill repute.

obviously he is too much of a puss or wouldn't even post about not being able to go if he were even thinking about sneaking in.

like none of you faggots ever went to a show underage. stop being faggots, faggots.

i helped a lot of people get into my shows underage because i hated the laws, but i always got nervous when someone was driving 2 hours on something i couldn't guarantee they could get into. talk of it on the internet made me all the more nervous, so i'd usually email/pm the kid straight away and try to keep them hush about it. sneak 'em in the back and have them pay me directly.

honestly though i never went to any shows underage and distinctly recall having to chill in ten grand's van while they played empty bottle and not getting in when i was under 21. all the laws in iowa happened after i came of age, but was bitter about 19+ in iowa city. i'd be much, much more upset, particularly as a promoter, about 21+. especially in a town as inconsistent about turnout as des moines.
