I'm pumped for one in Ames. They need to get it in Campustown somewhere. It's really been lacking a good place to get burgers for a long time.

Speaking of Sushi, has anyone been to Saki 21, the new place where Franks' Pizza used to be? I went there this week and the place is awesome! Decent prices and delicious!

This is the only somewhat positive thing I have heard about this place aside from the Juice reviewers. Everyone else whose opinions I trust way more have said it is absolutely terrible. [

the dude's that run this place came into my store a couple weeks ago, drunk. two of the most annoying people i've ever met.

heard that place was run by trash. sushi and trash don't mix. heard they don't ID though, for all you young kids.

Saki isn't even a Japanese word.

I wouldn't trust a restaurant owner who can't spell Sake correctly.

I asked about franchising , but they aren't interested in having on in Iowa for some reason. Sorry, but the frozen ones suck compared to the real deal.

Yeah, I don't see the fascination with White Castle. I've been to WC in Minnesota a couple of times, I didn't think it was anything to write home about. They could put one on the corner of SE 14th and Park Ave, I'd drive by it every day and probably never stop.

White Castle is food you eat during Hard Times.

WC is bearable if you avoid the burgers... get the chicken rings, and try not to think about what part of a chicken the "ring" is.


Also, can't fucking wait to eat B-Bops when I'm passing through town next month. B-Bops, Taco Casa, and Taki... the culinary triumphs of the greater Des Moines metro area. So pumped.

Easily my 2nd favorite fast food burger. Only one that tops it is In-N-Out. We'll have to see how this Smashburger place compares. Looking forward to trying it.

I'll say it - I wasn't overly impressed by In-N-Out. Maybe it's because I didn't get a chance to order a 16x16 beautiful monstrosity, or that they don't carry mayonnaise (I can appreciate burger purity as much as the next guy, but goddamnit I want some mayo for my fries, actually.. I require it)... but it didn't impress me too much. Decent burgers, but def. not the best fast food I've had. I like even like Steak n Shake more.

Should have gone to Fat Burger. It's so much better than In-N-Out.

Now if B-bops would just stop being so cheap and dumped the Styrofoam and went with paper, they could be the Fat Burger of Des Moines. I just hate the taste it adds to their food.

It's been open for a while. Eat there with the kid a few weeks back. Onion Rings kind of sucked but the fries and the burgers were great.
