You forgot the following:

6) Learn which of your creditors you can put off the longest in case you have a short month. When worst comes to worst rotate through peter, paul and that bitch Mary.
7) Never ever pay anyone for something you can do yourself! They more than likely are not going to do as good of a job as you will and have less to lose.
Never hang out the "Gone fishing" sign. Those people that stop by during your regular business hours and get turned away will never come back.
9) Keep track of everything and write it off. Taxes are a bitch and if you are going to buy it anyway, move it from that taxable income section.
10) If you can sell your widget without buying some over priced equipment, don't buy it. For example, a sales book from Office Depot will cost you about $1.00 but a POS computer will run you around $3000.00.
11) Build relationships with all your clients. If people think they are special and wanted they will go the extra mile to do business with you and will tell everyone they know about you.
12) Keep up your shop. Simple things like cleaning and replacing burned out light blubs well effect peoples first impressions.
13) Throw the idea of a 40 hour week out the window, cause it will never happen. If you are not a workaholic, maybe you should consider selling shoes or something.
14) Make everyone in your life understand that unless they are a dependent they will always come after the business.
15) The biggest one of them all, Pick something that you really have a passion for cause it will be your life.
16) Start up with as much of your own money as you can. A loan payment can kill a business faster then a recession.

This all has been a lot on my mind of late cause it looks like I'm opening a new business. This will involve a partner this time which takes a lot of the pressure off but it's still going to be a bit crazy for a while. I think it was Jim Ward that said something to the degree, "Starting a business is like giving birth. Some days it's the most beautiful child in the world but too often it's the biggest problem child in the world."

So what are you guys planning for the 5th? The Axiom turns 15 in March and I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. Was thinking the first 15 piercing on the day are $15 but who knows.
