I would much rather hear Buckcherry or Kid Rock play songs about fucking and drinking than hear James Hetfield's lyrics about how misunderstood he is and his parents hate him. After watching that Monster movie, it's really hard to take Metallica seriously at all. I don't know what happened, but they went from being hard drinking, partying mofos to a bunch of whiney therapy psychobabble types and it shows in their music. They should all hang it up and become social workers. I just hope the bass player gets out befiore he drinks too much of the Kool-Aid.

they got old, got sober, got married & had kids. thats what happened. 3 of those things are preventable but they fell for the trap.

They're walking by the night
The moon has frozen blue
Long black coats a shelter for the rain
Their load must get through
Now bats are leaving their trees
They're joining the call
Seven satanic hell preachers
Heading for the hall
Bringing the blood of a newborn child, yeah
Got to succeed, if not it's Satan's fall
-
Away out in Egypt in the valley of kings
Where the mummified pharaohs
Pretend dead in their sleep, yeah
Don't touch, never ever steal
Unless you're in for the kill
Or you'll be hit by the curse of the pharaohs
Yes, you'll be hit and the curse is on you, yeah
Oh, the curse of the pharaohs can be so deadly
Just destroying your future
Making it all shady, yeah
Don't touch, never ever steal
Unless you're in for the kill (for the kill)
Or you'll be hit by the curse of the pharaohs
Yes, you'll be hit and the curse is on you
-
Listen (listen, listen), yeah
I'm a corpse, I'm a corpse
I'm a corpse without soul
Satan (Satan, Satan), yeah
He's taken, he's taken
He's taken his toll, he took it on me
I (I, I), yeah
I'm trapped, I'm trapped
I'm trapped in his spell
Tonight (tonight, tonight), yeah
I'm going, I'm going
I'm going to Hell, inside his spell
-
Howl like a wolf
And a witch will open the door
Follow me and meet our high priestess, yeah-ee-yeah
Come, come into my coven, yeah-ee-yeah
And become Lucifer's child
Undress 'til you're naked
And put on this white coat
Take this white cross and go to the center of the ring, yeah-ee-yeah
Come, come into my coven, yeah-ee-yeah
And become Lucifer's child
-
I was born in the cemetery
Under the sign of the moon
Raised from my grave by the dead
And I was made a mercenary
In the legions of Hell
Now I'm king of pain, I'm insane, yeah
You know my only pleasure is to hear you cry
I'd love to hear you cry
And I'd love to see you die
And I'll be the first to watch your funeral
And I'll be the last to leave
I'd love to hear you cry
And when you're down beyond the ground
I'll dig up your body again
And make love to shame
Oh, lady cry, and say goodbye (goodbye)
Oh, lady cry, and say goodbye
Yeah, you gotta say goodbye
Yeah, 'cause I will eat your mind

I think it is ridiculous that drinking or drug use should have any impact on whether someone likes a person/band or not.....
I mean that whether you are a person who drinks/uses drugs, or whether you are a person who is personally against one or both things.
I think someone judging someone because they do or do not use would be a sign that someone has insecurities with their own decisions on whether to imbibe such things.
I have seen great performances by people who do not drink/ do drugs and I have seen great performances by people who use them to excess.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought Saint Anger was pretty funny.......and I like Metallica, but you can tell it was very personal and moving for them as individuals, and I personally think it was cool that they would release something that shows them in a not so flattering light. I do not like everything metallica has done, but it is hard for me to dislike the guys that I watched so many times on that Cliff Em All VHS, and it is hard to tell the real people a part from the all the things that are said about them in the press/public these days.
I think if Metallica and Megadeth would finally put the past aside and tour together it would be one of the biggest/best tours of all time.
(also it would be much cooler if Dave got atleast David back in the band)

I am no way defending Dave Mustaine's character.......
he is a weirdo......
he is schizo
he is a ginger
...............
but how does that make him a poser if he is very vocal(too vocal I would say) and upfront about his beliefs??

Suicidal is awesome btw, way awesome......
I found the cassete tape of join the army in my cousins stuff when I was young, I wore it out pretty much....
I finally found the cd of it at Homers when they opened, it was a good day.

So anyway.
The new singles. I'm listening to My Apocalypse now. I think it's a demo version or something, it doesn't sound... mixed well. I hope it's a demo. It's fast the whole way through, but the guitars suck. They're really simple, simpler than what was on Kill 'Em All. Vocals suck, duh.
The song is okay. I would circlepit to it.

Rob is like......
"uh, dude, I know I am totally a full on band member now, but do I really have to go shopping with you and hold your man purse?"
Hetfields reply: "Yeah, muthafucka, give me a hug you big monkey."
