these were fried bacon slices. pure iowa pork. some of the bacos and vegan bacon bits are delicious. some taste like straight tvp.

anybody mention anything about taking over a buffet? for hours and hours. then you could have your quantity and timed competition as well as the coffee sippers and psuedo discussions....just a suggestion.

Ryan - You should check out Lucca in the East Village - I think you'd like it. Small menu but it changes everyday and I haven't had, or been with anyone that had anything less than outstanding. I'd go on a Monday-Thursday though. It's fixed price at $25 for 2 courses during the week - and you get a cheese plate at the end on Fri-Sat nights but it's like an extra $9. May be worth it once but during the week would be fine.

I'd suggest the gnocchi on the first dish. I'll order gnocchi anywhere that serves it and this is by far the best I've ever had.

z'mariks(sp?) on university in clive, across the street from biaggi's is a fucking killer noodle cafe'......the majority of the menu is vegetarian(im pretty sure alot of the dishes are vegan or can be made vegan) with options to add a meat side, which is pretty cool.....they also have really good tea, and great prices( I think most dishes cost $5-6 bucks, and they are very fulfilling portions) i didnt really expect much going in there, but was blown away when i left. With an array of quality fresh cut veggies and homemade noodles, this place is fucking bomb....sooooo good, i suggest everyone to try it out..........word
