as for the rest of it, yeah he hyped that shit up be he did state hed be on his way back from denver when the show happened. i think while this dude is a little wordy and excessive on boards (he has like 10k+ posts on the pop punk bored) we shouldnt talk shit about him until we meet him and hes weird. but even then, half the people who come to shows are weird. the other half are just assholes. and the other half are girls and their moms looking for the rancid show.

Yes...I did come on here and hype Psyched To Die (for what its worth, I've hyped Banner Pilot and Rational Anthem more). That is how I found about about the Haunted Basement (saw it listed on PSTs MySpace). Was stoked to hear someone was putting on small punk shows in Des Moines. Asked Cam where I could find out where to get in contact with the HB dudes. He pointed me to this borad. Glad there seems to be an extension of whatever scene is going on in DSM on the interwebz. It is a good way to keep up to date on what is going on.

Yes. I missed the Psyched To Die show and was bummed. I actually got back in time from Denver, but when I got home, I went with my girlfriend to the ER as her 6 year old son was running a 103 fever and vomiting. He was sicker than shit. Could I have skipped that and made the show? Sure. But if you really wanna know...they have lived with me for 2 and a half years. They are my "family"...so I wouldn't ditch them for a show no matter who was playing. Get fucking over it if you have a problem with it.

You know what is fucked up though? Judging me from a few posts you've read by me on a messageboard. "Calling me out" because I missed a show I was stoked for. Implying I am some sort of posuer because you haven't seen me at a show at the HB yet (or don't remember me 5 years ago). Implying that I am only into punk to collect records. Basically trying to alienate someone who is stoked about what is going on in the DIY scene in DSM before you even know who I am. Servo seems like a rad guy and is willing to accept and help out (he is gonna help with the Banner Pilot and Rational Anthem shows), which is much more an "ethic" of someone who calls themself a punk, than trying to alienate someone from a scene or "calling them out." You, on the other hand, seem like some holier than thou dick who thinks they are better than everyone else and wants to exclude people from the scene in Des Moines instead of include them. But like I said, I shouldn't judge until I've met you. I am just saying that from what I have read of your posts on this messageboard.

Also...yeah...I post on the Pop Punk Bored a lot. That's what happens when you spend 8 hours in front of a computer at work all day and you don't feel like working. Are you a bored member, Servo?

I walked over to the Hy-Vee near my work this morning to get a pecan roll for breakfast. While walking to the bakery, I noticed a man (who appeared to be homeless) with shit, as in feces, caked all over the back of his pants. He was eating grapes out of the samples of fruit they had in the produce section. It was the dumbest thing I've seen today so far. I'm sure I'll see dumber things if/when Joe replies to my previous post in this thread.

Where did I ever say I was part of the punk scene 5 years ago? Me saying there seems to be more of a "scene" nowdays than there was when I lived here 5 years ago doesn't mean I was part of it. I occasionally went to shows then, but not regularely.
