robocop.
Even today, I can't see a car run a red light without instantly having an image flash into my head of a man's erect penis, penetrating a watermelon.

UGH I SUCK

God watched this the first time in a years recently, I'd really forgotten how good it was.

Here's another suggestion from that period Night of the Hunter.

i don't think i can, in any semblance of respect for myself, give you Netflix suggestions. So here are some good movie recommendations:

Teeth - Girl finds out she has Vagina Dentata whilst discovering her sexuality. @ already posted about this awhile back, but i just now saw it and it's bitchin.

Charlie Wilson's War - Based on the true story of the man who almost single handedly helped arm the Aghanis to fight off the Russians in the 80's. Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts both redeem themselves and Phillip Seymour Hoffman puts in one of his best performances.

King Corn - Documentary surrounding two Bostonians who move to Iowa to grow an acre of corn. While learning the ways of small farming, the doc takes a look at corn production and usage worldwide. A lot more interesting than you'd think.

Youth Without Youth - new Francis Ford Coppola film starring Tim Roth. just watch it.

not a movie, but if you're not watching Frisky Dingo repeatedly, you suck.

I recently got "Joyeux Noel" off Netflix and really liked it. It's a French film loosely based on a true story during WWI. There's French, UK (Scottish) and German trenches all within shouting distance of each other. On Christmas Eve they have a truce and all meet up in no man's land and hang out for the evening. They find that they share similar customs, religion, sentiments, experiences and so-on, despite the fact both sides were told about how evil and unhuman the enemy was. There's some action and military stuff, but it's more of a drama than anything.

Yeah that scene still creeps me out. Also the way that the whole movie is filmed at the children's propective. All the adults seem so big and powerful especially Robert Mitchum's character with the children always in their shadows. Great film.

Also from the same period and style, Touch of Evil.
