Sleater-Kinney is one of my favorite bands ever.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I'll take Bikini Kill over Sleater Kinney but still love em.

How about this: Alkaline Trio and American Steel are playing the House of Blues in Chicago-- sponsored by HOT TOPIC.

Alkaline Trio were recently on the Mtv show The Hills where they 'recorded' their new track "In Vein".

But... I love those guys. I'm so confused.

I can second this.

I'm glad that Sleater-Kinney isn't a punk band, because I would probably like them a lot less. I'm not really interested in listening to wholly retroactive music that acts like there haven't been any worthy advancements in music in the last thirty years, by which one could be influenced. Punk is the campiest music that people are still trying to take seriously. Kind of a joke in 2008.

yeah. but, S-K are proof that punk is not retroactive and that it's only the people who refuse to see that punk has evolved and is more than just a bunch of dudes wearing period costumes playing the same music for 30 years who have this problem.

Joey has every right to disagree, just as he has every right to be narrow and wrong.

really, I don't care what anyone classifies them as.

I just find it lulzy that some people are so quick to exclude a band from a genre that bucks tradition and standards by definition.

The song "Smokin" by Boston is exactly 4 minutes 20 seconds long.

Fan of "The Hot Rock". Some of their songs are ruined by the singing, but I overall think they're very good.

Crumpty: Women playing guitar has produced some good results over the years. What about The Raincoats, The Slits, Babes in Toyland, PJ Harvey?
