don't get me wrong i do appreciate you getting us on that show. you've just have such a negative attitude toward us since we first posted. take a look at the other thread! you must not know me if you think i dont go to shows. i dont take note on everybody that goes to hardcore shows but im pretty sure i've been going to them a lot longer than you. Yeah i haven't been going to haunted basement shows because I work nights now and i know that those shows run later. as far as ruining our reputation goes, how does saying that we don't support our scene and dont go to shows not make us look bad? there are people from other cities that post on this board that also happen to book really good shows in a city we really want to play.

Or you may be talking about how I got on some of the members of your band for sitting around and PLAYING XBOX VIDEO GAMES instead of going and supporting a local hardcore show... a split 7" release of a local band, no less. Yeah, that was pretty negative. I take none of it back, though.

Well, as far as "supporting the scene" goes, a member or two of your band haven't shown that they exactly CARE or WANT TO support the underground DIY scene. Like I said before, they take complete advantage of the donations-based door fee at the Haunted Basement. They act like it's just a free show. DONATE TO TOURING BANDS. Don't be fucking shady, that's completely shitty.

You might want to have a band meeting or whatever and talk about this.

And, as far as going to shows goes... yeah, go to more.

Let me reiterate - NOT DONATING MONEY TO TOURING BANDS WHEN ASKED FOR DONATIONS IS COMPLETELY FUCKING SHITTY. Actions like this speak louder than any messageboard post on 515crew. (And if you cared so much about what this messageboard had to say, you would've registered a long time before people started calling out dudes in your band.)

It's members of your band's own actions that are giving you a bad rep. Not mine.

Okay I didn't have money and I came to that show Joe when you asked, there have been lots of shows where I have donated. You caught me at time when I have no cash flow coming in it all, I started going to haunted basement shows (when it was still being called [...]) cause james partied there and told us to all come and hang out and I wouldn't come and just take advantage, that's all you think anyway though so it doesn't even matter. I had no clue this messageboard even existed until a few weeks ago.

This arguement is stupid and should end here; like I noted earlier.

on the subject of donations, its for the bands. why would you expect to go to a show and not pay for it? its "donations" to avoid legal trouble.if you go to a show and dont donate, youre shady. its called having some sort of principles. you either add to the scene or use it like a leech. if you dont have any money, bring some canned food or something. an effort will be appreciated, im sure.

I'm not trying to pick a fight like everyone else is, BUT
If you say donation to avoid legal problems, why don't you put it out there and say "$5 donation," so people actually get that they're paying for a show. Does ALL the donation money go to the bands? Or am I paying your rent?
Can I come to a show and give 2 dollars if that's all I have? The donation thing IS pretty awkward.
Can I bring cupcakes as a "donation" instead of money? Where's the line drawn, you guys?!?!

Either all or around 95% of the donation money goes to the bands. I may take a few bucks out to fix shit up around the place, but that's usually no more than $4 or so. The reason it's donations is because it's illegal to charge someone to come into your house. Brandon just went to Colorado, a house show charged door, the cops showed up and took all the money (something to the tune of $600) without returning it to the people that paid. They just took it. It's donations based because of that. $2 is perfectly fine, the point is... donate something. Cupcakes are fucking awesome too.
