I beg to differ!

I think it's pretty fair to say that if these guys do not support the scene, why should the scene support them? It's one thing if these guys were old dudes with careers, kids and so-on and miss out on shows, but come on, missing big shows because you're busy playing video games with your girlfriend?

While it shouldn't be "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" 100%, I think that bands with members who actively take part in the scene should get a little more consideration over other local acts who make themselves scarce when they're not on the bill.

Before any members of whichever band I'm talking about get on and defend themselves, I'm not here to argue over whether or not you guys go to shows. I have no clue who any of you are and I wouldn't know if you go to shows or not. If the general consensus is that you guys aren't active enough in the local scene, I just think it's ok and fair to put you lower on the priority list as far as getting shows goes.

i wasn't being a dick. it's just annoying when people book a good show the same day as another great show that's been booked for months. i assume people who want to go to the haunted basement show will not be persuaded otherwise by my stupid comment.

I stand by my statement. If your band wants to have shows, it makes sense to support the scene (the easiest way is to attend) so there are shows and maybe your band can play some of them. Guess what happens when everyone decides that playing video games is more important?

No shit other things come up that hinder show attendance. Believe me, I know. I miss a lot of shows because of work and because I do not like leaving the house before 10pm, unless it's to the gym or something like that. I also don't like most of the music. I even missed a show a couple of months ago to go furniture shopping. Somehow every swingin' dick on this forum has seen me at least a handful of times at shows in the past year. Make it happen, stop freeloading on the scene.

Edit: If you can't afford the cover for shows, hit me up. You can pull weeds, stain my deck, unfuck my flower beds and all sorts of shit. I can always use a 'lil elbow grease around here.

Being fairly new to all of this I haven't attended a ton of shows. All I know is that we all like the music and we're all excited about playing the show on the 8th. I was playing video games yeah, but that's already been discussed. The reason I didn't go didn't have anything to do with Oblivion, it was believed time constraints.

Posting stupid myspace bulletins about this isn't going to help. I came to you band on my own accord and asked you guys when you would be ready to play. You said the beginning of May, so I hooked you up with a show BY MYSELF without you asking, so don't fucking act like you had to beg and plead to get on May 8th. I even asked if you guys wanted to play Hercules and you never got back to me. I'm not going to put you on every fucking show; there are other bands out there that would like to play as well.
