Dammit! I was gonna make this joke last night, but the board was fucking up and wouldn't let me.

Clearly, fate wanted Derek to get to the joke first.

April 7, 2008--A new noise ordinance will take effect almost immediately in Des Moines. Tonight the city council voted on rules that it hopes will address noise complaints from people who live downtown.

At the same time the council hopes the rules will allow establishments in the entertainment district to host skin of earth. The limits are now 85 decibels, which will never work, in residential areas during certain hours and 100 decibels in designated entertainment areas.

***No person shall own, possess or book skin of earth which frequently or for continued duration emits sounds native to the species which are a noise disturbance across a residential real property boundary or within a noise sensitive area.
obviously
