that is wonderful.
Even today, I can't see a car run a red light without instantly having an image flash into my head of a man's erect penis, penetrating a watermelon.

I'm not even sure what I want to say about this.

No offense to Joe, but if someone needs to threaten to bring in third parties to "split his wig", they do not belong in any sort of street subculture whatsoever. What a joke. If this guy is really "affiliated" with some dudes, said dudes are really carrying around some deadweight.

A+++ on translating Wegro to English, Tom.

6 to 7 years... if you check the website, they have a catalog of like 10 cds... however.. they only had one homemade cdr in paper sleeves on the merch table at the show. Not even a cover.

What’s up world, its Eyerishkyd you already know. I ain’t apologizin for shit, i dont need to, but i do like the fact that we gettin all this promotion right now. Keep tellin people about us, have em come to our show. And nah, i aint been around to local hip hop shows, & yes i did come to the DMI scene outta nowhere.

Im from Mason City, ive been rappin for approximately 6-7 years, been writin lyrics for 8. I just moved to the area bout 7 months ago, same wit Tre. Where we’re from, there aint shit for a hip hop scene, no places to do shows, no hip hop shops to promote ourselves, but somehow we still managed to get ourselves a following back home.

Yes, we did headline our first couple shows here in Des Moines. We booked em, we got our boy T.R.A. to open for us @ our first show and we got him back to go .. our boys Prophecy & Micl opened our second show. We did this because we saw a couple dudes who are doin there thing and deserve to be doin more. I appreciate the love that all you guys have shown 4 real.

For a total of $64 that Me & Tre actually got for doin this show we gave Prophecy & T.R.A. $20 a piece. And from what ive heard someone didnt give Proph any money for opening for him. But then again thats just hear-say. haha.

I aint callin anyone out, but so you all know, i am affiliated when some dudes that’ll split wigs if i give the orders. Boss shit. Also, rap beef aint shit to me, ill chew & swallow any diss track made towards Eyerishkyd or Tre D Crazi. So get at me.

Shout out to T.R.A., Prophecy, Micl, City, JC Money, Lil’ AK, Tricky & everyone who has supported us whether it be from the 515, 641, 319, all you guys from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

To everyone else who cannot look past a word or 2 bein spoken on a song that has absolutely NOTHING to do with homosexuals, you have no business listenin to any music of any kind.

The song entitled "Let Me Get ’Em", is infact a diss to Soulja Girl, there are a couple other songs i have personally made goin @ Soulja Girl again. We’re are doin this to let people know where we’re comin from, we dont like little girls who make up some dance & somehow call it rap. The song does infact use the word "faggot". But as far as that goes, to me, "faggot" is just another word to use to call someone a dumbass. I have a few friends back home that are gay & lesbian, and i dont have a problem with them, and that is for the reason that they are able to look past the language used on certain tracks and tell us themselves that they really like our music.

Once again thanx 4 the support to everyone who is actually real. We’re gonna keep doin what we’re doin, we’re gonna keep callin ourselves "Kings Of The Midwest", cuz if we dont have any confidence in ourselves, who the fuck is gonna? Ya Dig?

THANK YOU 4 YOUR TIME,

_Eyerishkyd a.k.a. Young Hitta of Xerost8 Records_[WRAEgang]_

Can one of you rap guys explain the "mix tape" concept to me?

I remember recording songs I liked onto cassette tapes and all, calling that a mixtape but somehow it seems like a slightly different concept.

Still LOL'ing @ dudes Eyerishkyd is "affiliated" with. I wonder if he's referring to the handful of people who have "WRAEgang" on their Myspace profiles?

my definition of a mix tape is a collection of songs that are not good enough to use on a album..and using other peoples beats...like popular club songs and puting your own lyrics on top of them...there is also skits and tracks where you talk about, your album and when its coming out..its basically something to hold people over until the actual album is out.... But as a dj it can mean that you make your own remixes of songs and blend them together and make them your own.

so basically, guys who have no money for gear, no talent & no friend with a cheap version of acid are taking other peoples music & turning it into their own? weak!

i can understand an actual dj taking a song & morphing it into something that is his/her own by adding new parts to a song, but if you're just taking a few beats & looping them, than you aren't much better than vanilla ice. remember: ice ice baby started as under pressure.

Ok, so when you go into the 'hood on a nice day and buy those bootleg CDs for $5 with all kinds of different songs, sitting right next to the knock-off Roca Wear shirts, those are mix tapes? I used to get some sweet reggae mix tapes on Forest Ave. I didn't like dealing with those people too much though, they would always try to push bootleg Nickelback and Eminem CDs on me though. How's that for racial profiling? The really young kids were cool though, they'd give you 5 CDs, a knock-off Roca Wear shirt, a turkey leg and a porno DVD for $25.

You are half right, we use other peoples beats diffrent ways.. So it can seem lame but in the hip hop world it can be fresh..alot of times "diss tracks" will be put out using the "the other guys" beat...as for those cds that you purchased those are mix tapes...And I know those dudes that sell them... and sometimes they have "damaged" liquor.

They have tons at hip hop heaven. My bro buys them and I laugh. Nothing but other people's songs with a "DJ SICKLE CELL IN THE HIIZZZIII" every other song. Pretty good for a lawl.

I bought the DMI Sho' Shot compliation several years ago and in between every song they have a little clip with some dude going "MID, MID EAST ENTERTAINMENT" with some echo effects and a janky little beat in the background. It's easily the single most annoying thing I've ever heard put on an album.

Haha, that song rules. I believe it was "nigga what" though. "We some gangsta niggas, we some thick muthafuckas". Wasn't the guy's name "Face Down" or some shit? There was another song on there I liked but it got silly with the "I want to fuck you" or something like that chorus. Lots of plugs for Launchpad Records on that one too. I always thought it was funny when they would have the Oakridge commercials on TV and they would interview that guy and it would say "so-and-so, CEO of Launchpad Records". CEO? Give me a fucking break. That's some serious meglomania to give yourself a title like that for an extremely small indie label that probably turns somewhere in the neighborhood of zero dollars profit.

if it's taking beats from non rap albums, thats where i feel the lameness coming in. i remember being at a strip club once & phil collin's 'in the air tonight' starts up but then some guy starts rapping over the beat, having phil come in for a few bars here & there. is that a mix or is that a mash up? either way, i thought it was dumb. i also hate the fact that diddy fucked up glen fry's 'you belong to the city' & that beyonce lifted the intro to stevie nicks 'edge of 17'.

why do you care if the original artists are allowing it? almost any good rap song is built off of a sample from a non rap song. the ones that aren't are shit like soulja boy.

Sampling is a huge part of hip hop, and always has been. However, some artists do it more tasteful than others. I will say that sampling phil collins is retarded. All of my music is sample based in one form or another, however a majority of the source material is things that people really haven't ever heard, or are at least no familiar with. And, if I do use anything that they might be, I manipulate it to the point that it no longer is.

Mixtapes are retarded... Not the dj kind, but the rapper kind. If you are a rapper/emcee, you should spend that creative energy and time making albums.
