Neither of you have any idea what you're talking about when it comes to booking, especially in this town. 12-15 would be my starting point. Too bad the Hunger Pains is a done deal, they'd get a lot more people in the door.

stupid relapse...they better play an encore cover set of DOPESMOKER
Re: High On Fire/May 8/Mews
i understand. charging that much in order to break even on the show may make sense from a booking point of view, but it doesn't mean it's worth it.joey chaos wrote:Neither of you have any idea what you're talking about when it comes to booking, especially in this town. 12-15 would be my starting point. Re: High On Fire/May 8/Mews
This show was originally gonna just be some sort of private function at Church of Choppers bike shop & was gonna be a about 25$ (from what I heard, Hairy?????). So now Im just gonna wait till that day to see ill go this or see As I Lay Dying @ Peoples. Both cost the same. I just would like to see a show at the new Peoples. Was in there during their Kareoke bullshit. Good lookin room though.
Re: High On Fire/May 8/Mews
This is sweet, but I'm definitely going to see Misery Signals instead. Sorry!
Re: High On Fire/May 8/Mews
i would not want to see high on fire butcher that. om however...TooManyHumyns wrote:stupid relapse...they better play an encore cover set of DOPESMOKER
and beaver is right the new peoples is a nicely laid out room. saw jewel there. it was ... intimate.
Re: High On Fire/May 8/Mews
i just imagined joseph sitting in a corner at Peoples and singing loudly with Jewel as his beard is hanging out.

Re: High On Fire/May 8/Mews
Yeah seriously.
Misery Signals? As I Lay Dying?
Garbage.
High on Fire is tight, but not for $15. Go to the Haunted Basement instead.

I don't like As I Lay Dying, but Misery Signals is one of my favorite hardcore bands ever. They are amazing, and that's all there is to it.

true...i never really got into em' a couple friends of mine really dig em'...i would only really wanna go to meet the doods that started sleep. which is kinda lame, and i probably wont be there

om is better. it is i was better. operator generator was better. sabians were better. hopefully shrinebuilder will happen and be better.TooManyHumyns wrote:true...i never really got into em' a couple friends of mine really dig em'...i would only really wanna go to meet the doods that started sleep. which is kinda lame, and i probably wont be there
i dont think the price matters that much. theyre a good band as long as you leave out the sleep part. but i dont think 12, 15 bucks is enough to complain over. des moines and especially the mews has kept cover charges much lower than the national norm, which might explain why we(dsm) get outbid on so many shows from kc, iowa city and omaha...
