DUMPSTER diving.

Post by xkristyx » Thu Mar 06, 2008 7:37 pm

Are there any good places in Des Moines to dumpster dive tight shit? Actual items, not food. It's for my art class...

Or Ames. I don't care. Somewhere in the Ames/Des Moines area is fine.

The only time I really hit it is when the seasons switch. You can get hooked up with anything in this town with as many kids that move. In general I'd say stick to the higher end dorms i.e. Eaton or Freddy. Otherwise if you want something you know a business might be throwing out, I'd just go and ask them for it.

find a store, jump in its dumpster.. that's the only way of knowing of any cool things.
i've found some neat things at some west side stores. one time, went to a chain bookstore, jumped in their dumpster, first thing i pick up, porn. the rest was nothing of any interest at all.
Even today, I can't see a car run a red light without instantly having an image flash into my head of a man's erect penis, penetrating a watermelon.

If ya don't wanna post it then PM me! It's sort of an inconvenient time to be assigned this project... because yeah the dorm/close to campus dumpsters are chock full of goodies.

I've found plenty o porn in a certain "chain bookstore" dumpster.

Is there stuff in like, goodwill and salvation army dumpsters? I guess I just want a general idea of what to hit and what is a waste of time.

You people don't wear gloves or protective clothing doing this? That's relatively pretty fucking scary to me.
