Yeah, I wasn't at the Social D show because I had to work. I wasn't even really into them too much at the time, but these days I'd probably travel to the next city over to see those fuckers. I'm kicking myself still for that one.
The Fear show was fucking sweet. Up until fairly recently, that was (in my humble opinion) the last decent show in Des Moines. I think that was '98.
"Play 'Bomb The Russians!' " " No, they're our friends now". Lee Ving totally sold out. The scene seemed to get really gay and uninteresting around that time.
Total Passover? Squidboy? That one time James Munson went to his first show where At The Drive-In opened up for Boris The Sprinkler, he bought their CD, got it autographed, we all laughed at him and called him a fag but he probably sold it on EBay last year for a ton of cash to some dork out in cyberspace.
"Boy the way Glenn Miller played
Songs that made the Hit Parade
Guys like us, we had it made
Those were the days...
And you knew who you were then
Guys were guys and girls were girls
Didn't need no welfare state
Everybody pulled his weight
Gee, our old LaSalle ran great
Those were the days!"
- "Those were the days". Theme to the greatest TV show ever made, "All In the Family". RIP, Carroll O'Connor.

It was 97 and At the Drive-In opened for them. Wait I think they played the Green Room in 96. I don't remember.El Rhino wrote:"Do I count."
Is that a statement or a question, Jordan?
This is going to be sweet. We're all going to sit around and talk about that one time we saw Boris The Sprinkler back in '96.
Yeah that Fear show was a downer for me. I remember all these people outside bitching that it was $10 or $12. For some reason I thought it was 99 but I could be wrong. It did seem that that was when the scene started breaking up into these little sub-groups and started sucking.El Rhino wrote:Yeah, I wasn't at the Social D show because I had to work. Re: just wanna see where this goes
This thread was sweet. I went to that Hoods show and I don't think I paid because I showed up with 30 minutes or so left. I believe Lumpy was at that show too.
