Hey guys: I know a few of you already attend these, but I just wanted to mention that there's another record show taking place Sunday (March 6th). It's at the Holiday Inn at 1050 6th Avenue from 10am to 4 pm. Admission is a buck a person. There are 21 dealers lined up right now, so the room will be pretty full.

To those of you who haven't been there in a while, I'd say the majority of dealers bring LPs -- it's a lot of classic rock, but some people will bring newer titles, too. I don't think we'll be seeing as many CDs this time, but there are two poster dealers coming (one guy is making his first trip to DSM), and a couple of guys who sell DVDs.

In case you're wondering, the other shows scheduled for 2011 are on May 15th, August 28th, and December 4th.

is there a place to sign up for email notifications for these record shows? i always seem to find out 2 days before and that doesnt work out for me and my stupid budget.

Joseph: I've got a general email list for the store, as well as an email list just for the record shows. Either one would work. You can go through the store website (zzzrecords.com) to sign up, or just send me a message with your info and I can add you manually.

The next Des Moines record show is this Sunday (5/22/2011). 10am-4pm @ Downtown Holiday Inn on 6th Ave. $1 general admission. So far, we've got 20 dealers signed up, with three of them selling for the very first time. It's mostly vinyl, but there are a few dealers with CDs, DVDs, and posters too. I know some of you came out last time -- hope to see some of you again.

Should we try another one? The next DSM record show will be Sunday, December 4th... again at the Holiday Inn on 6th Ave. 10am-4pm. $1 admission, but I'll waive the cost if you mention that you saw this post on 515crew. Kids 10 & under are always free.

For those of you who haven't been to these before, it's mostly vinyl at these things, although you can also find CDs, DVDs, posters, and other stuff. It's mostly 60s-90s rock, with a few dealers selling alt titles, too (mostly bigger names... Ramones/Gang of 4/Talk Heads/etc.). Sometimes you can find some obscure stuff, though, and some of the dealers are more than reasonable with their prices.

Oh, I've also talked the hotel restaurant into selling slices of pizza during the lunch hour, so you can eat cheap at the show.

Yup... time for another one. Next DSM Music Collectors' Show is Sunday (Feb. 24th) from 10 am to 4 pm. It's at the Holiday Inn on 6th Avenue, just like usual. Since the hotel is under renovation, the show will be moved upstairs to the Tower Room. Admission is $1 for ages 10+. Other shows for 2013 will be on May 19th, August 25th, and December 8th.

There will be lots of vinyl, but also CDs/DVDs/posters/etc.
